interesting...good for the white sox, depending on what they gave up...

how about Manny possibly going to the Marlins? I will miss Manny, even though he's like the Artest of the MLB, I've enjoyed him being part of my Sox...now the Marlins will get to enjoy his antics and power house hitting...not sure if it's official yet, it's been reported by a paper already this morning...

Marlins are denying it, which doesn't mean anything. He'd be making as much money as the the rest of the Marlins team though, if the deal goes through.

Sorry to go OT .. :curse: :upset: :vent: (mostly because of all the annoying Boston fans than the team itself and because I was raised in NYC)

And now back to your regularly scheduled show...

Fish won't get Manny. Their recipe is their farm system and developing young talent for less dinero. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The Red Sox would supply cash too.

God I hope Manny doesn't get traded to Florida in the 3 way deal for Jason Bay back to Boston. I think I will be sick for weeks as a lifelong Sox fan. I understand why we need to trade Manny but if they do it for that deal we will be done and not in the playoffs. I would keep him before trying to get Jason Bay. My dad has been in Boston for about a week and he went to Fenway for 2 of the last 3 games and said it is ridiculous how Manny is tanking and not even running out ground balls. Something has to give.

Sox felt they had to do it. Don't blame them.

Shame on Ramirez for tanking it. What a baby.

Funny thing is, is that all three teams lose in this deal.

Pirates give up a solid OF and get so-so prospects, Dodgers get an offensive player but a hopeless left fielder, and the Sox give away a cornerstone of two world series championship teams.

It's just a shame that Manny and the Red Sox could not work this out. Manny and Ortiz was the best 1-2 punch offensively in baseball. No one wanted to face those two. Now Ortiz and Jason Bay? That is average at best. We go from one of if not the best lineup in baseball, to a middle of the pack lineup. I'm not trying to hate on Bay but I don't see him close to being Manny. His numbers are similar this season but I do not trust him in clutch ABs especially if the Sox actually make the playoffs. He probably won't be able to handle the pressure that the fans and the team will put on him. I lived there for years and they will put him under a microscope and compare him to Manny all the time. There is no way he can live up to that. This is a sad day to be a Red Sox fan. I still have hope that we can turn it around and make the playoffs, but it sure as hell doesn't look good with Tampa playing well and the Yankees getting better.

Red Sox are at a crossroads for sure.

Yankees are coming for now, but I don't think their rotation as is can hold up. They'd better score a lot of runs.

Bay is a nice player, adequate LF, and likable. He'll put up some #'s, but I doubt with the any of the electricity that Ramirez did. Ramirez and Ortiz have been great together.

Ramirez may have left a permanent stain on his Boston legacy.

Knucklehead.
