Battier future?

Post#1 » by wadero » Thu Jul 31, 2008 3:47 am

Is there a link to the Rockets stating they will not trade Battier? There is a lot of talk about he isnt going anywhere. I for one think they may deal him for quality depth which we will need in the post season. So if there is a link please post it.

There is no link, but it just makes sense. You aren't going to get something back for Battier that will make the Rockets a better team than they are with him.

We're good at PF; and Alston is a good PG for this system. Yes, they could both be upgraded, but you aren't going to get an upgrade at either position without sacrificing quality depth.

Sometimes a sixth man is more important than a stater, especially is said 6th man is one of the best team guys and defenders in the League.

So, as much as it may annoy you to hear it, I'll say it: The Rockets are not interested in trading Shane Battier.

Shane Battier is our best player after Tmac-Yao-Ron.

Maybe if we got Barbosa or Gordon in return I'll consider trading Battier.

But yes, he gives us depth off the bench and a heck of a defensive lineup with Artest.

i suggest we keep battier as insurance incase ron artest doesnt work out for us this year and we have to use his expiring in a trade or '09 cap space because he has behavioral problems or anything else.

The only way I would trade Battier is if we could get a major upgrade at point guard.
