Who would you say would be better for this team, louis williams or delonte west. I think it's most likely that williams ends up staying here, but if cleveland were to arrange a sign and trade of some sorts whereby the recieve williams and we get west coming back to philly would you be disappointed? personally I'll take louis williams for this specific team because of the style, but I would not at all be disappointed if we somehow brought west here. Williams certainly has more upside, but west seems to have a much more consistent all around game. He's a fairly solid player. Just curious what everyone's thoughts are.

I would be very disappointed. Louis Williams is much younger and still improving. Delonte is pretty much at his pinnacle already.

I really don't even see why this is a discussion but it's Lou Williams.

I would like to note that west's 3pt percentage is much higher than williams. Their assist-turnover ratio is about the same, but west plays slightly more minutes with slightly fewer points than williams. The one thing I'm thinking is that it would be good to have a better 3pt shooter on the perimeter and west has a 42.9% shooting percentage from three point range. That's a pretty decent average, and he's not just a stand still player like kareem rush. He at least has some semblance of being able to create his own shot. Lou is great to watch, but I'm really torn on who I would want more for this team.

Its been posted already in the rumor thread.

Lou can penetrate against any defender. Only a handful of NBA players can do this- and many of those are stars. The rest of his game needs refining, but at worst he is still a valuable bacvk-up pg/coring guard off the bench. At best he is an impact player with his ability to control tempo and break down a defense off the dribble. If he can improve his midrange and scoring efficiency in the lane (tear drop of 6ft pull up) he will be an offensive force.

West has no calling card- no elite level skill. He is a solid back-up PG on both ends who can shoot well and defend. He will have a nice NBA career, and is a good peice to have, but will never be an impact player, and never be a game changer. He is a good complementary player at best.

Comparing West and Lou is like comparing Iguodala and Desmod Mason. Mason, like Iguodala is a good athlete and good defender, but is best suited as a bench player or stopgap starter. He's not a bad NBA player, but has little impact on the game. Iguodala has similar flaws (not a gifted scorer) but has elite athleticism and can be an impact player. Lou may not be a starter like Iguodala, but he will be a 30min player for the rest of his career and a potential impact player, while West will have a Desmond Mason like career trajectory.
