BOBCATS CONVERSATION.....

Post#1 » by misterglover » Thu Jul 31, 2008 7:36 pm

Since this is a boring off-season for us especially after we finally got Okafor re-signed me & my friends were sitting around last night drinking, playing dominos and discussing the 'Cats...we talked about a bunch of different things just thought I would throw some of them on the board and see what you thought....feel free to add your own.....

1. # of wins for the 'Cats in 08-09
I say 36...I think a healthy Morrison & May along w/ LB's experience gets us more than last year but I dont think we're a playoff team yet but a better team

2. How do you see the Southeast Division playing out....
1. Washington
2. Orlando
3. Miami
4. Atlanta
5. Charlotte

3. Since Okafor got his $$ and a vet coach what do you see his #'s looking like this yr?
I can see 17ppg & 11rpg & 2 blks

4. Whats the over/under of actual NBA gms rookie C Alexis Ajinca actually playing in(not NBDL gms!!)
I say over 8 under 20....didnt realize just how skinny this guy is.....

5. Chances we finish the season with the same roster as we begin the season...
I say 25%...this kinda ties into question #1 I dont think we are that good of a team w/ this core so Im hoping some changes will be made...

I would like to know some other Bobcats fans opinions on these.....

1. 40-42
2. orlando (52), washington (43), charlotte (40), miami (38), atlanta (34)
3. 15, 11, 2.... same as it ever was....
4. 8-20 sounds about right...
5. 5% - there will be at least one change to one of our fringe 12-15 players.

1. # of wins for the 'Cats in 08-09
40+
We've been a 30+ winning team through injuries and bad coaching. Give Larry Brown credit that he can pull us further than we've ever been in just one year. Look at the Sixers, Trailblazers, and Rockets. What they did last year was amazing. Not because they had winning streaks and playoff births, but because they did awesome with the horrible players they were dealt with. We have a squad this year. We can smoke anyone out of the water. We beat a lot of good teams last year and NOW with Larry? :usa:

2. How do you see the Southeast Division playing out....
1-Orlando
these kings have yet to show signs of falling back. their more improved than last year.
2-Charlotte
we so hood.
3-Washington
kept the same squad by a miracle. But haven't gained anything that makes them better.
4-Atlanta
thanks pacers for reminding us that they had a team.
5-Miami
rebuilding year...

3. Since Okafor got his $$ and a vet coach what do you see his #'s looking like this yr?
16ppg 15reb 3blk

4. Whats the over/under of actual NBA gms rookie C Alexis Ajinca actually playing in(not NBDL gms!!)
Who cares.

5. Chances we finish the season with the same roster as we begin the season...
Yes. The guys will play well to stay on LB's team. Unless we loose May again then we might get another big. I could have just put a percentage, but i hate math.

1. 38-40 wins
2. Orlando, Washington, Miami, Charlotte, Atlanta
3. 15 ppg, 12 rpg, 2.5bpg
4. I agree, between 8-20. Anymore, will be a surprise.
5. We will finish this season with the same roster.

1. 44-49 wins - I'm going optimistic here. I think Charlotte is the surprise team in the NBA this year with some guys emerging under Larry.
2. Orlando, Charlotte, Washington, Atlanta, Miami
3. 16 ppg, 12 rpg, 2.5bpg
4. I have a feeling none
5. Larry doesn't usually not push to make deals. If he feels we can get better he's not gonna hesitate to move someone. It would more likely be a smaller deal, but still a deal.

1. 35 wins... I echo the first poster, this team is no better than last year's version except that it has a real coach. This team is unlikely to make the playoffs as constructed. People read my pessimism thread, nothing has changed since then.

2. Orlando, Washington, Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami

3. 14ppg, 11rpg, 2bpg. Given how "post $$ Wallace" worked out, I'm not expecting miracles out of Okafor. Larry's never been one to hammer it down low, so I'm also not expecting a lot of changes to his offensive role.

4. Less than 20 for sure... we drafted a project, and he might stay one forever.

5. Sadly I think we probably will have the same roster all year (substantive roster, at least... maybe we cut a 13th man or whatever).

1. 40-42 wins We have Morrison and May back. Mcinnes replaced with DJ. plus we have a proven coach. We will make the playoffs

2. Orlando, Washington, Charlotte, Miami, Atlanta,

3. 16ppg, 11rpg, 2bpg.

4. between 8 and 12mpg

5. there will only be a few minor changes

1. 40 wins
2. Orlando, Washington, Charlotte, Miami, Atlanta (if they lose Josh Smith; if they keep him then they move to 4th)
3. 15,11,1.7 (okafor's not going to score that much more with larry brown in my opinion. sean may is back, davidson has improved a lot, we still have nazr, and we are developing two twigs (hollins and ajinca) now instead of one. since sean may is a much better post player offensively, he'll get more touches i think than okafor still.
4. ajinca will get garbage minutes with hollins for now
5. potentially trading a felton package for a starting PF somehow, but i would hate for it to happen since i still believe in felton and of course it would be awesome to have no production dropoff when we sub in our backup PG augustin

From the outside looking in.

1. 45 Ws <- the team core is perfect for the coach
2. Orlando, Charlotte, Wahington, Miami, Atlanta
3. 14ppg, 11rpg, 2.8 bpg
4. over 25 under 60
5. 0% there are so many attractive trading pieces 1 will be moved for the player Brown thinks will keep Charlotte from sliding in the second half of the year.

Season's X factor -> Weaver if he can develop within Brown's system he brings some match up problems for very good opponents.

larry brown's influence doesn't take full shape until after a season. so don't expect much this year.
