barbs for West and a 2nd?

WTF???? Dude, I like West in all, but if this is another one of Kerr's bright ideas, he is one stupid SOB. I personally think we can get a little more than that.

At least this is some stupid radio host that seems to have not cred in the clev area.

West looked good here in Seattle and for the Cavs last year, but wow. That is nothing for Barbosa. Way overpaying for Delonte West and only a SECOND rounder??? Come on now, LB's not effing up the locker room like Matrix. This isn't like Manny Ramirez we're trying to dump wherever we can. LB has tons of value to us as a 2 guard. Raja's almost done and I'd love LB to stay around to take over from him. I'd rather dump Doris first.

Not going to happen. The trade could never work out.

West would be BYC when traded and with Barbosa at 6.1 million this year, the lowest possible incoming trade value we could have would be 4.88 million which would be half of West's new contract.... that would put West at 9.76 million/year which he is nowhere close to being worth....

Not to mention that trade wouldn't even work for the Cavs... they would need at least 7.8 million coming in....

Barbosa's value is so much higher than just West. 2nd rounder? Come on....

i dont think this would be the deal but barbs is clearly being shopped, secondary though only to diaw

(I think with barnes we are now offering diaw for a backup F or C and a PG and teams are countering asking for barbs etc)

you just have to look at the crap ben gordon is asking for to realise that barbs is a great kid with an even greater contract and we need to hold him without getting a good deal back and this isnt it

Delonte West?! That guy looks like he has every disease in the world. And he sounds like something's wrong with him. I'll pass.

Throw in Joe Smith and see how that works for financial issues (or even Damon Jones / Sasha Pavlovic for the matter). Fillers are a plenty in Cleveland. Thing is, do we WANT anything to do with West at THAT price tag? I wouldn't be surprised if we threw in a first to get Z too... :banghead: :upset:

if it was possible to work out would anyone do a barbs/diaw for west/big Z? I personally would. and yes BurningHeart, West does look like he has a disease on his face, but the kid showed some heart in the playoffs this season, which is why i would very much enjoy him here as a backup PG. and Z, definitely the most underrated big in the game i think.

At least this does not seem like it has any teeth, and is some made up BS from some crap in Clev.

I agree, West did show some heart, and plays solid D. However, Barbs is a good bench guy.

imo the guy who has to be traded is still diaw. barbosa just went for a soccer match with steve nash. he´s too much of a nice guy to be traded. and i think he realy has a great relationship with steve nash. so i doubt he´ll get traded...

can i please jump on that Shaun Livingston Bandwagon?

Props to the great one

I'm still on the Livingston bandwagon, but i would prefer to get jason williams and arroyo over him only because Livingston is more of a risk over the two. If Livingston didnt get hurt he would be my top free agent period, but then again if he didnt get hurt im pretty sure the Clips would have given him a contract extension..

i wish barbs all the success but im all for this trade. at least west showed in every series last playoff... iprefer a player with a heart with less skills rather than a player with a lot of potentials but lack of heart.

Question:

If Jason Williams is struggling to find a team to take him for 1.5 million - 3 million.... why the hell won't we? I know, I know... the luxury tax, but Williams is worth close to that salary + lux tax.

I say this all after having read that Williams article about him looking oversees, but am dead serious. What would everyone put William's value at anyways?

yah, we should have enough veteran leader that jason just could come out here and play some bball.
so i agree with that statement completely...

I think if no team is taking him, kerr will wait and see if williams wants to come for a minimum. most ppl want to come to phoenix and if the only offers he gets are mins hopefully he comes here. of course this is all assuming kerr is actually looking at williams.

also just a question. if u use minimum contracts to go over the lux tax. do u have to pay luxury tax still?

West is the same player as Barbosa only worse and slower.

PASS.

That would be a horrible trade in my opinion. I would trade Barbosa and Tucker for Joe Smith and Daniel Gibson.... In my opinion , I think we are keeping Barbosa to see how he does under a defensive coach.

All we need to add is someone like a Jason Williams and we would be set...

Yes. But since the league funds a portion of the veteran minimum salary, the team only pays luxury tax on it's portion of the salary, not the whole thing.
