lebron james. he won't have the help that others do, he'll lead the cavs to a 50 win season, he'll cement himself as the best player in the league.

I also see James having a historic statistical season. He wont have the win total as other MVP candidates, but I do see the media making an exception and awarding him the MVP.

It's gonna depend on record, but I think its a two man race between Lebron and CP3.

Re: The 2008-09 MVP
Chris Paul edges out LeBron. Mostly because Paul's team is top 3 in the West, ans depsite LeBron's tremendous season, the Cavs still aren't 'elite'.

There's no way to adquaetly answer this question, at least not until december.. A guy like Tracy McGrady ( If the Rockets are best out West) could realistically win it next season..

Re: The 2008-09 MVP
I think it'll be Kobe again. With Bynum back and Odom in his contract yr, that team can even be better than this year's. The media is back in love with Kobe again and if the Lakers will 60 games, they'll once again think it's Kobe's coming out party and vote for him.
But that guy in Cleveland is pretty damn good too.

Re: The 2008-09 MVP
I doubt any team will win 60 games. It will be like last season, tight race for the top spot with all the talent in the west. Plus all the scrub teams may challenge some teams.

every year people say Lebron....he should, but hes not gonna win it on that team..Theres gonna be about 5-8 teams better than the Cavs, the wins arguments is always gonna be made...I could see Tmac having a better chance

Lol at Amare being on the list. Gil, Melo, Duncan (and I'm sure there's others) all have a better chance of winning it than he does.

Re: The 2008-09 MVP
Every year people say Bron just like CB4 said. But seriously, the Cavs are going down as the whole East looks a lot stronger so I don't think they are going to win 50 this year. However, they still should be a feared team come PO time 'cause of their rebounding/D/Bron combo. He's going to have to improve statistically, which is possible but I don't know how much. I really don't know how you can say it's safe bet.
The safe bet is easily Kobe. You know he's going to get his numbers and you know they are a going to be a top team in the West (and according to Bynum they could break the 72-10 record
). So yeah, if I was putting my money on anyone it's Kobe.

With the numbers Lebron is putting up it would be a travesty if he doesn't win one soon. Hopefully his team will be good enough for him to be considered.

Re: The 2008-09 MVP
LeBron is in the same position as Bryant was a few years back with a mediocre squad, he'll deserve the award but since it's predicated on a winning team as well he won't. That being said, I'm going with Paul. He's going to duplicate, or possibly improve, his production from last year.

Re: The 2008-09 MVP
I think the Cavs will be a better team than they were last year, and LeBron is going to be better than last year.... It's his time, I think he's taken the mantle as the best player in the league now, and he's just a truly dominant force, he just "feels" like the most game changing presence out there currently.

The NBA MVP is a farce. It has become a popularity contest/who-should-have-one-but-doesnt award Steve Nash has two for some dumb reason.
Who do I think will have the best resume: Amare
Who will probably win it because **** sportwriters and idiotic sports anchors have votes: LeBron

Yao Ming is in his prime now. He'll tear things up this season.
