You sound as if you have some inside information about the Mavs. There must be a blockbuster deal about to happen if the Mavs are considered to finish as high as #1.

We need to go after Smith now, and hard too. Josh Smith's shooting will improve the more he trains and practices, and it's not like Artest is a lights out shooter either. And people are saying we want to run? Well how can we when Howard mopes around the court? Smith would bring that much needed high intensity athleticism that he has.

Also, we need to trade for J.R. Smith as well. For some reason it looks like he has worn out his welcome in Denver since they haven't talked to Smith in about a month according to Smith. He is a good 3 point shooter who could easily come in and step into the SG starter.

Both of these are possible, but they need to do something or else we will be on the outside looking in when all the other teams around us are getting better:

I am a houston fan but I also like the mavs. I dont have a problem with them. I just dont think they are very good. They are soooooooooooooooooo soft. the superstar dirk is as soft as a grape. they can win a title if the mavs somehow avoid duncan, amare, yao, west, boozer, kg, and rasheed in the playoffs. You have a little sissy jump shooting sg in terry, josh howard is a pothead, and fake gangster wanna bee. and im not going to even mention how dumb it was to give up devin harris for Ason Kidd. he has no J

QFT moron if Dirk is so soft what does that make T-Brokeback? Dirk comes back from injury ahead of schedule while McGrady takes even longer than the suggested time he is suppose to be out. How about Yao and his yearly "oh I hurt my vagi.." injury. I see Ron-Ron is already acclimating himself with his "gansta" ways with his new teammates. Again what was Rafer Alston,Mike James and every other failed bit suppose to do with Houston the last decade? Oh wait I know spare everyone to death! Until your team accidentally gets out of the 1st round of the playoffs STFU and go back to your "but I also like the mavs" hole you crawled out of!
