Top 10 players in the NBA

Post#1 » by Al-Haqq » Sun Aug 3, 2008 3:13 pm

I'm wondering what you Celtic fans think are the top 10 players in the NBA.

1. Kobe Bryant
2. LeBron James
3. Tim Duncan
4. Kevin Garnett
5. Dwyane Wade
6. Yao Ming
7. Paul Pierce
8. Tracy McGrady
9. Dirk Nowitzki
10. Gilbert Arenas
--------------------------
Mentions: Chris Paul, Allen Iverson, Amare Stoudemire, Dwight Howard, Steve Nash, Deron Williams

* all players healthy.

You could make a good argument to swap T-Mac and Ming.

Order isnt bad and I think you could people up and down the list depending on health, etc.

Omissions that I would like to include: Elton Brand, Pau Gasol, Vince Carter, Shawn Marion, Micheal Redd.

Chris paul is a top 10, Arenas/Iverson is overrated based on coming off injury ( Arenas ) and Age ( Iverson). Scorers ( who have poor shooting percentages )tend to be overated on lists like these.

Brian Scalabrine. 1 through 10. Period, bitches.

BTW, all you who've ranked Kobe in front of LeBron have been brain-washed by the media.

After 5 straight years at the top of the list, The Ticket yields to King James.

1. LeBron James
2. Kevin Garnett
3. Manu Ginoboli (friggin didn't even make the All-Star Team - idiots)
4. Chris Paul (his defense keeps Chris Paul behind flopper Gino Boli)
5. Dirk Nowitski
6. Kobe Bryant (there were 5 players more deserving of MVP)
7. Chris Bosh
8. Dwight Howard
9. Tim Duncan
10. Paul Pierce

Off the top of my head-

1. Lebron
2. Kobe
3. Garnett/Duncna
4. Duncan/Garnett
5. Paul
6. Wade
7. Howard
8. Dirk
9. Nash (slipped so far b/c of his defense)
10. Pierce (is anywhere from top 10 to top 15, I could see some other guys having an argument here as well)

People ranking Paul, Howard, anda healthy Wade below Pierce is well, ridiculous- and I love Pierce.

Not sure I can come up with an honest list - a player's performance often depends on the position they play and the teammates that surround them but 2 things I know for sure - LeBron would be #1 and Dwayne Wade would be pretty high up. I can't believe how many people ommitted Wade from their lists. One injured season and he's done? Check out how he's playing on the Olympic team and you may change your opinions. Btw, not his fault the refs kept baling him out in the finals two years ago -- anyone would have kept driving hard if they got the calls. He's an incredible player and he's back. I can't think of a better 2-guard besides Kobe.

Kevin Garnett
Kobe Bryant
Chris Paul
Dwyane Wade
Paul Pierce
Carmelo Anthony
Dwight Howard

idk for sure, hmn.

1) Duncan
2) James
3) Kobe
4)Paul
5)KG
6) Deron Williams
7) Dwight Howard
8) Dirk
9)Wade [I expect him to be slowed down with injuries]
10) Yao [same as Wade]

guys like Nash,Amare,Boozer are all great but they give up too much on defense. Only Dirk makes up for it enough imo.

Pretty funny stuff, Laker fan. Love your sig and avatar, too. Clever. It must be a consolation prize to have a little fuel for your resentment of Pierce after what he did in the finals. BTW, hows Kobe? He recovered from that no-show in the finals yet?

I wouldn't know; I'm not a Laker fan.

Good effort, though.
