yao should sit the first half of the season

Post#1 » by rockybalboa11 » Mon Aug 4, 2008 12:08 am

he needs to let his foot heal after the olympics.

he is claiming to be about 60%-70%. and he says he is feeling weak.

i hope the rockets make him sit.

That's a horrible idea we need him to win games so we can get a good seed I think with artest now he will get fewer minutes making more efficient meaning less stress on his feet.

Wow. Way to comfort the fan base, Yao. I'm hoping the quote was taken out of context, and he's just not in game shape, because if his foot really isn't healed, then we have a serious problem.

I know having patriotism is important, but I don't like the fact that the Olympics mean more to him than the Rockets. Perhaps I could cut him some slack, since China is the host nation this year, but he's not even healthy and he's still pushing himself just so he can play a couple games in the Olympics. If this causes him to sustain a more serious injury than before, I'd be really disappointed.

The Rockets need to do well this year. I just hope for Yao's sake that he gets better and not worse when the season starts.

I'm going to cheer for every team that China faces, hoping that Yao gets sent home early.

BTW, nice sig, McGrady2Head.

If his foot is only 60-70% healed then why the f*ck is he on the court. I seriously hope that he means conditioning or something. Honestly if his foot is still injured then he has no business playing, this is something that could end a career.

you know by him saying that he is 60-70% healed, that means if he doesnt get hurt during the olympics then when the nba season comes by.. not only will he have got good training during the summer but also he will hopefully be at maybe 90-100% healed.
Rockets FTW!!!

Without Rehab? Playing 5 on 5 against other teams, very physical (FIBA Rules) I think not..

Lol, I saw lots of selfish thinking here.

Alright, since for you guys, Rockets is always more important than country/Olympic games. Lets us pray and curse Kobe (Lakers), Paul (Hornets), D.Williams (Utah), Howard (Magics) and the rest all suffer serious injury during Oympic and their career end there, don't bother about US's medal. So Houston got higher chances to win NBA title this season, all agree? Come on guys, lets pray.... :D

I personally don't see what makes the Olympics any more important than the NBA, which is to say that either of their importances hover around nil. Given that, I don't see why you wouldn't want a guy to get knocked out of the Olympics more quickly if only for two reasons

- You get to be entertained by him more
- More importantly, he lowers his risk of a life scarring injury

I'm all for limiting Yao's minutes earlier in the season

Relax,
He said his conditioning was at 60-70%. He felt weak and frustrated that he wouldn't be in top conditioning for Olympics.

Yao just said that this Olympics would be his last. I hope that goes for all Team China commitments.

It's not good to play year round like he's been doing.

If by ton you mean 2 then no he has no time to recuperate. This is just the nature of having Yao. He just won't be a 100% this season at any point. Olympics are way more important. Can't blame him. We all knew that and we'll have to face that this season when he starts the season at around 80-85%.
