Quinn to Raiders?

Post#1 » by Mike Hunt » Fri Apr 27, 2007 8:16 pm

I just posted this on the draft board but there's more traffic here. ESPN radio just mentioned that the Raiders, according to Adam Shefter, are possibly in contract negotiations with Quinn.

Could the Raiders possibly be in contract negotiations with Russell and Johnson too?

most likely a smoke screen to get russell to lower his demands. of course i thought that last year and then the texans shocked me by taking mario over bush.

I still think Raiders will select either Russell or Johnson.

Brady Quinn has no chance at going #1.

I've heard they're lowballing Quinn and seeing if he bites. If he does, they'll take him and if not... They'll go with Russell or Johnson. I guess if they feel they can get a bargain for Quinn, they'll take him, but if not they'll just go with Russell or Johnson...

That's exactly what I'm thinking. It sounds sort of Mario Williams-ish from last year. Give the guy #1 status but, save by giving him #3 money. It's not a crazy idea if there's no trade down possibility.

Russell should be the 1st choice based off 1 game and workouts, I personally think Calvin Johnson is by far the best player available, Quinn is also a less risky prospect especially after Russell shows up to the combine overweight and out of shape.

As a Raider fan my preference is for them to trade down and get Quinn and some more picks through trading down, and also through trading Moss.

BTW Russell was great at LSU, even though I would take Johnson, saying he had 1 good game is uninformed.
