I would still take Odom. Lets see him play with everyone healthy before we totally bury ourselves in payroll. With Odom we have flexibilty and we can see what this team looks like fully healthy.
Cheers.

yes, yes you can...
as i was about to say, the bulls arent THAT interested in trading hinrich just yet. for 1 they dont have the gordon deal done...no gordon deal means hinrich stays. for 2, even if we get a deal with gordon done, that doesnt mean the bulls will want to trade hinrich immediately. seeing as how he just came off of his worst year as a pro, his stock is at an all time low. and while it will never be as high as it was b/c he wont see the time at pg he used to see, it can definently rise higher than what it is.
not to mention there has been plenty of talk about how JR wants to keep hinrich anyway...

I'd consider seeing LO with the Lakers and ask Jerry B to politely bring a big for that just incase insurance.

Re: Bulls motivated to make a trade (Nocioni & Hinrich)
Odom has to be involved if a trade were to occur - and I doubt it:
The talent we would be getting would surely be a longterm upgrade.
But I agree with what Phil_2.0 has said about sticking to our guns.
Mainly b/c I don't trust Kupchak's judgment.
Also, Buss and the rest of the owners might want to open up their wallets for a good/great one. (trade)
Oh, and good post miles.

But it probably won't be something the Bulls consider precisely because of what some Laker fans have already said in this thread: Gooden will be alot easier to sign next year than Odom because Odom is going to want alot more money. Plus, the Bulls are already thin in frontcourt players. Odom will demand 13 mil next year and the Bulls would be stuck either paying it or playing Noah and Tyrus Thomas 48 mins a game. I.E., the Bulls can't afford to give two frontcourt players for one. Especially one that will probably walk next year. If you guys just want Nocioni or Noc and Hinrich, or just Hinrich, that has a better chance of getting done.

Re: Bulls motivated to make a trade (Nocioni & Hinrich)
The only deal that works for us is Nocioni / Gooden for Odom and fillers. We have a decent PG rotation who got us to the finals last season.
I understand why some feel the need to see what we can do with odom at the SF, but honestly what does anyone think is gonna happen? He will not have a consistent jumper and our bigs will be double teamed, our spacing will be killed, and defense will be better only to a degree because while bynum will stop a few shots.....he will also be put in foul trouble for helping others.
I like Hinrich but due to our CAP gooden works better for us. He expires and would be the backup at the 4/5. Obviously we need a true SF, which nocioni would be great for us. Why screw with the PG situation when that has not been our greatest weakness.
Like I stated before our star power will be lost in this type of trade but only name wise, while our team would be more complete and roles would be filled. Its not like we bring in any cancer type personalities while sending out odom either.
Chemistry will be a issue either way because WHEN Odom dosent work like we need him to at the SF we will have to make adjustment after his original adjustments to play there to begin with.
Waiting until our potential trade partners are set in their moves makes it tougher for us to accomplish our goals of finding a fit for our team.
