Re: MIN-PHI
Like the trade. I like Igoudala better than mccants in that he has a more complete game. He can pass on offense and rebound. I like this trade for the long term for the twolves. It gives some help where we are going to need it, on defense. With Igoudala and brewer we would have the peremiter d to make up for the seeming lack of interior d. I would make the trade, but agree with others, I doubt that philly would consider it.

MIN IN: Andre Iguodala (S&T $10,071,516) + Jason Smith + Willie Green
MIN OUT: Mike Miller + Rashad McCants
MIN OUT $11,748,701. MIN IN: 14,785,876
CBA: $11,748,701 x 1.25 + $100,000 = $14,785,876 works under cba

PHI OUT: Andre Iguodala (S&T $10,071,516) + Jason Smith + Willie Green
PHI OUT $9,750,118. PHI IN: $11,748,701

Madsen for TPE/cap space.
Mike Miller 9,128,575 9,880,937
R.McCants 2,620,126
M. Madsen 2,630,000 2,840,000

Willie Green 3,388,000 3,682,000 3,976,000
Jason Smith 1,326,360 *

2009-10 MIN ADDS: $2,090.088
2010-11 MIN ADDS: $16,273,573
2011-12 MIN ADDS: $13,588,818
*If we kept Jason Smith, add 1,418,880 2,187,913 for 2009 and 2010.
If we do this trade, we are saying goodbye to the 2010 cap space, particularly with Willie Green in the deal.
This wouldn't affect our cap space for 2010 as much as everyone thinks it would (unless we renounce mccants and miller). Next year mccants will need to sign an extension and I bet he'll get something like 4 million a year or so (it'll depend a lot on this year), so that decreases 2010-2011 by 4 million. next if we plan to keep miller in 2010-2011, he would have a cap hold against us and i'm not sure what that would be but I'm guessing that it would be around 10 million (we could probably sign him for maybe 7 or 8 million in the first year and save a few million), but with mccants and miller we'd have at least 12 million more against our cap for 2010-2011. So adding Iguodala would only cost us a few million more against our 2010-2011 cap space.
Also I know shamsports.com used to have willie green's last year or 2 as being unguaranteed (they now have the last one as ETO), but I know antoine walker's unguaranteed contract wasn't shown because he has options in the final 2 years of his contract as well, maybe green's last year is unguaranteed like walker's and it's not showing because of another option. If that's the case then we probably would have more cap space by trading for iguodala then if we don't trade for him.

Re: MIN-PHI
The way I see the cap situation is iggys deal would be ~12m in 2010. In the event the wolves retain McCants its safe to assume he proved something "major" so he probably would get a sizeable contract. If he doesnt prove anything we probably just let him walk. So the cap space difference is at least 2-5m depending on what Miller potentially resigns for and thats if he does.
Everyone also overlooks Jason collins is expiring, meaning we could easily free up ~7m cap space for a team next year in a salary dump to a team over the cap this year. How about we potentially pick up a 1st or 2 with that $$$ next year(like SEA did last year w\ phx).

Re: MIN-PHI
Sorry to say, but Icky Iggy does little for me at this cost. I do like his athleticism and his ability to defend and slash. As mentioned before though, floor spacing becomes an issue. Additionally, I just don't see his superstar potential. His shot form doesn't look true to me and our team needs someone to spread the floor and this trade takes away two of the members on this team that can do that.
I may over value Miller now, but I don't put him that far below Iggy that we throw in McCants (who I probably undervalue more times than not) and have to pick up a bad contract and have it impact our finances as it does. Not how I want to spend the money at this time.

Just a thought... With all the teams trying to free up cap space and it being somewhat unlikely that a top tier fa will want to come here; why not capitalize on the overvalue that is being placed on cap space. We might be able to get some really good players below market value by offering expirings.
