I still agree with those who said Collins will likely be a starter. I just dont see them throwing Love out there night 1.

Foye, Brewer, Miller, Jefferson, Collins.

Solid rebounding core possibly Gomes instead of Brew

Mccants works very well as a sixth man but I dont think Brewer is close to starter minutes yet.

With McCants, Love and Telfair as a nice eight-man rotation. Not playoff bound…. but heading in the right direction.

Love might be starting later in the season but not at the beginning and I just can't see Brewer beating out Gomes or Miller.

foye, shad, miller, gomes and al
(even though I don't like Al at center I think this is what we will see to start the season.)

Foye, McCants, Miller, Love, Jefferson. Possibly Collins just to take the edge off, but I expect them to go with Love if he's grasping the basic concepts.

Telfair, Brewer, Gomes, Smith, and Carney as deemed fit. Curious to see who we add for a combo guard. I expect a more defensive type player.

I like the youth and flexibility, but will continue to worry about interior defense.
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"

Collins (16) - Jefferson (28) - Love (4)
Jefferson (8) - Love (26) - Smith (14)
Brewer (20) - Gomes (24) - Miller (4)
Miller (26) - McCants (22)
Foye (32) - Telfair (16)

I like starting Brewer and Collins so we have 3 good offensive guys and strong perimeter and post defense (plus we are tall). I also like staring Brewer to keep his confidence high. I think Gomes and Brewer will flip flop depending on match-ups. Gomes is a solid defender, but Brewer is more versatile. I still think McCants may end up traded which will give Brewer, Telfair, gomes and Miller more minutes.

That's my thoughts too. I think Gomes over Brewer is the better lineup. However, if Miller's D at SG as bad as it is rumored to be I could see Brewer starting at SG initially. The rationale would be enough scoring with Foye, Miller, and Jefferson that Brewer's D on the opponents best scoring wing would make it worthwhile and Gomes and McCants with Smith/Love gives us a strong bench for scoring. So even if Brewer and Collins start I think the major minutes go to Shad, Gomes, and eventually Love.

I like all the different opinions. Shows that we really have no clue. I'd like this one though.

Foye
McCants
Miller
Jefferson
Collins/Love

The huge monkey-wrench for me is to look at what Gomes did for us last year, and say, "sorry, you lost your starter's job." I think the new guys (maybe even Miller) need to earn the right to supplant guys, despite our 2007-08 record.

OK, this is a mix of what I think will happen, and what I want to happen but:

PG Randy Foye .. his strong finish to the season, and lack of competition at PG make him the starter

SG Rashad McCants .. MIN wants to boost his trade value, so he gets a month's worth of starts

SF Corey Brewer .. MIN Front Office hopes he does well, so they look smarter. They tell him to "just concentrate on defense"

PF Ryan Gomes .. We still love you Ryan

C .. Al Jefferson .. He has to start. Period.

After three months:

Foye/Telfair
Brewer/McCants
Miller/Gomes/Carney
Kevin Love/Craig Smith/Cardinal
Al Jefferson/Collins/Richard/Madsen/Booth

why not start Telfair, Carney, Cardinal, Richard and Collins and bring the other guys off the bench to surprise everyone? :D

j/k

Foye, McCants (Brewer), Miller, Big Al (Gomes), Collins (Big Al)

those guys in brackets will start depending on match ups. if we go small start Brewer, Gomes and Big Al and if we go big start McCants, Big Al and Collins

Whoo Hoo! 40 MPG would boost all their stats, and I could make wonderful pretend trades!

"What do you mean you won't trade us Jared Bayless for Telfair?!? Telfair's averaging 26 PPG (I won't mention the FG 26%) and he's on that cheap cheap contract! What is I throw in Brian Cardinal? He's fourth in the league in double-doubles!"

I have to think that Love will not start right away, but will get his minutes. I can't see any way that Brewer starts over Gomes. His defense will keep him the NBA once the rookie contract's up, but his offense will keep him on the bench.

Al, Foye, Gomes and Miller will average 30+ mpg. Love will get high 20s. Smith, Telfair, Collins, McCants and Brewer get the back up minutes with crumbs for the rest.

For a while, I thought Brewer would start, but now I'm feeling more like it'll be

Foye
Miller
Gomes
Jefferson
Collins

at the start of the season. Love will come off the bench to start - I'm curious to see how quickly he's inserted into the starting lineup.

You guys do not have a complete appreciation to how much Jason Collins sucks. There is no way in hades Collins starts over Love or Gomes regardless of the matchup.

PG Foye
SG Brewer
SF Miller
PF Love or Gomes
C Big Al

That's what people said about Theo this time last year. Sucky or not, they'll start the veteran with size.
