Ben Gordon Trade Idea

Post#1 » by heir_jordan22 » Wed Aug 6, 2008 5:05 am

you guys are a couple pieces away from being one of the very best teams in the NBA.
would you guys be willing to do Barbosa for Gordon straight up. we could also give you a 2nd round pick and cash to help pay for Gordon

Nash/Gordon/Strawberry
Gordon/Bell/Strawberry
Hill/Diaw/Tucker
Amare/Diaw/Lopez
Shaq/Amare/Lopez

What do you think?

I think that trade is equally even. Both are shooting guards and poor point guards. I don't think it's an upgrade for either team, but if CHI is willing to unload a 2nd and cash, then we might have a deal. Other than that, i don't see why PHX will want Gordon.

I wouldn't. If we are going to unload Barbosa we're going to do it out of necessity for another position (i.e. a non-undersized SG or true PG), not to replace him with a clone.

Has Gordon been resigned? I thought he said something about wanting the same contract Deng got? Of course, it doesn't matter, because our owner says he's not cheap. So he'll be glad to do this trade.

If anybody else has anything to say about Gordon for Barbosa trade could you post it in the Bulls section under "Perfect offseason plan"? Thanks in advance.

hmmm. Pass.

Barbosa is Gordon on a great contract. If we get Gordon, he's going to leave us sooner or later because we're not gonna give him a contract.

Besides this trade doesn't address our main problem, even if you throw in Simmons, since we need a true point guard, not a scoring point guard.

i dont think we have to trade barbosa. but.. if we do

wat about sign and trade for J.R. smith + chucky atkins(after his trade restrictions are lifted) for barbosa and tucker

we get a point and a scorer to replace the loss of barbosa. they get a good defender in tucker who can score aswell and another scorer who cant play defennse :P

I don't anything to do with Gordon. a) he's cocky b) he can't play defense c) he doesnt have the tools to play defense. Yeah, Barbs can't play D either, but he's humble, and he has the length and quickness to be a good defender. If he was taught how to defend properly, he could be a solid defender, no doubt. Also, not to mention, a straight up Barbs for Gordon doesn't work, at all. Gordon wants TWICE the salary of Barbosa, so that doesn't match up. Only way I take on Gordon is, if he's signed for:

2 Years / 20million

and the trade is:

Suns Send Boris Diaw + Leandro Barbosa for Drew Gooden, Ben Gordon and a future Second.

And to the guy who proposed the SImmons addition, ARE YOU INSANE? SIMMONS SUCKS!

Barbosa's value is a bit higher than getting a late 1st round pick back.

Gordon is as good as the MLE. That's it. I'm sorry you guys are having a hard time with him, but for the Bulls to turn that situation into Barbosa would be an amazing coup.

I would say that Hinrich + Gordon might net you Barbosa + Diaw.... except the Suns wouldn't do a S&T for Gordon as it stands now.

Hinrich, though, has been coveted on this board for a while.

Yeah, I knew it would be hard to S&T BG

I am very happy that someone values Kirk because i like him but almost every Bulls fan wants to ship him out for nothing, which I don't understand.

Ya but both Hinrich and Gordon are going to want more than what we want to give them, in the sense that Hinrich isn't our long term solution and Gordon is...Gordon.

Here's how I see it as far as putting someone behind Nash.

Can anyone really complain that they are coming off the bench behind Steve Nash? Even guys that talk about starting only seem to do so with close PG races on crappy teams. Coming off the bench for a team like the Suns doesn't seem that bad.

Seriously, if there was anyway to swing a Diaw for Hinrich deal.... I would be amazed.

Otherwise it looks like....

1. Dragic
2. Williams
3. Marbury
