He can get on my nerves sometimes, but a healthy Wade is a force of nature. One of the best 2 or 3 players in the league when he plays like he did in '06, and even though I don't particularly care for the Heat it's good to see.

I just don't trust his health to hold up. I'm not saying I neccesarily expect him to break down next week, next month or even next season but I do think it's going to be an issue he'll be battling through out his entire career and that's something I've consistently said since his rookie season. It's just the sort of game he plays - the dude takes a beating. That's why guys like Vince have become more perimeter oriented as they get older; they need to in order to prolong their careers and remain healthy. Even Jordan adjusted as he got older and become more of a post-player/jump shooter than he was early on. And I don't mean that as a negative. But maybe Dwyane will be able to make that transition as well. We'll see.

Their have been enough negative threads concerning Wade. Why is a positive thread not allowed?

While I don't necessarily disagree with the idea that eventually Wade will need to find a bit more balance with his perimeter game, I think he will be less likely to be injured simply because it seems he is understanding now what it takes to play the game the way he plays it.

Here's a quote from the Sun Sentinel:

Wade spoke of such efforts culminating his comeback from knee and shoulder surgeries a year after the Heat's 2006 NBA title.

"Like I've been preaching and I've been saying, I've worked my tail off to get healthy," he said. "I haven't been healthy in two years after going through that long season, winning the championship, coming right to compete in the world games.

"I didn't have time to rest my body, so it wore down over the next year and that's when I had two surgeries."

He reiterated a familiar theme since he joined his Olympic teammates at practice two weeks ago.

"You know, I'm healthy again. I'm as healthy as I've been in two years," he said, "and I'm excited not only about this opportunity. But I'm excited about the rest of my career, because now I know what it takes and that weight room has become my best friend, hard work has gotten me there."

To the guy bitching about this thread... there have been enough people replying to obviously not mind having a thread about it.

Wade with 22 points against Australia. One of the only positives in the game.

I hope he keeps his blistering pace up during the actual tournament and into next season, it's been extremely fun to watch and reminds me of how good he can actually be.

I wonder if Wade can pull himself back into the Kobe-LeBron bracket.
