Pacers. Bucks and Oklahoma trade
Everyone knows that we need work done to our front-line, not a shock. I was thinking of 2 big men that would help up a lot. Charlie V at PF and Wilcox at C. Theres rumors that trying to get Charlie V for Murphy (but thats from HoopsHype, a site that doesnt have too much creditability because anyone can post there).
Its for sure not going to be a straight up deal because Murphy is making much more than Charlie V is. Hopefully we could get Mason and Charlie V for Murphy. Mason is an expiring contract. We might be asking for too much. Another issue here is that we're adding another player under contract, we're already over.
I think if we add in OKL then it might work. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...5~11&te=&cash= thats a trade i thought of that adds in all 3 teams (Pacers, Oklahoma, and Bucks), the trade might be lop sided to favours us, but we would have to add in picks and the JO trade exception.
This trade could possibly leave us with a future of young players that could grow together:
Ford/Jack/Diener
Dunleavy/Rush
Granger/Graham
Charlie V/Baston (Landry would be a better backup)
Wilcox/Hibbert

Im at work and cant open the link. But Im assuming it has us sending out Foster, Rasho, Murphy, Tinsley, Shawne, and Daniels. Only reason I say this is because they arent in the rotation.

No way on Earth OKC or Milwaukee does that deal. We trade Murphy and get back Chaz Villanueva and Chris Wilcox? That'd be great for us...but no one else in the deal.

Re: Pacers. Bucks and Oklahoma trade
I'm afraid it would take more than some 2nd round pick and a small trade exception to get that done. Why would OKC want Mason for Wilcox? Why would The Bucks take Murph for CV and Mason? It's great for the pacers but I don't see either of the other teams going for it without some serious sweetener

Re: Pacers. Bucks and Oklahoma trade
The original deal actually has Shawne Williams going to OKC as well.
However, there's no reason financially or talent-wise for OKC to swap Wilcox for Mason and Williams, nor for Milwaukee to swap expiring contracts for Murphy, especially when Villanueva could possibly produce just as well as Murphy if given the same amount of minutes.

Re: Pacers. Bucks and Oklahoma trade
Bucks to want to move CV almost as much as we want to move Tins but I doubt O'B wants him any more than Skiles does. I know I'm a broken record on this but we don't need to break the bank to find a 4 even though it's our weakest spot. I know this comes as a shock but we're not going to win 55 games this year. if Shawne doesn't grow up into a four, we can draft one next summer. time is on our side.

Re: Pacers. Bucks and Oklahoma trade
^^Spot on, we're not in a position to go chasing a quality 4 right now. We simply don't have the expendabe pieces to demand one. Although Troy is overpaid he will play a solid role and is someone who could only get better without JO around. Let's just wait, i don't wanna be regretting overpaying someone like Charlie if we could help it

Re: Pacers. Bucks and Oklahoma trade
Many people (me included) thinks that this may be Troy Murphy's year. His numbers should be back to like 14 and 10 now that the starting pf spot is solely his'. Plus, i kinda agree on the complexity of moving someone with such a huge contract as Murphy. I just hope his FG% goes up.
Anyways, i don't think Shawne will develop into a 4 this season or maybe a couple more. People see him as someone in the mold of Walt Williams, but i think, with proper conditioning, he can have the body of a Tim Thomas. I'd like to see him add some bulk so that we can use him at the 4.

Re: Pacers. Bucks and Oklahoma trade
Troy is a case study in the usefullness of +-. He can average a double-double and still hurt a team.
He looked better during portions of last season than he has in a long time, so there is some reason for hope. Just don't judge him by points and rebounds alone, or you'll get fooled.
I think the best thing to do with him is to surround him with athletically gifted players who defend.

Re: Pacers. Bucks and Oklahoma trade
I must agree i noticed alot last season in full what you mean. When he's not attempting bad shots and giving up fouls he works well with the scorers. He can though put up 20-10 as you mentioned with 7-20 shooting and 5 turnovers. I hope next season though he simply mans the paint, takes open shots not just any, and is aggressive on the boards. I really think he'll be fine.
