Bulls-Nets Trades

would you guys be willing to do Hughes for Bobby Simmons. you could use hughes as a third guard or even start him at the SG with VC at SF
Is this something you would consider doing?

if that's not sweet enough we could add a pick or cash

Harris/Hughes
VC/Hughes/CDR
Hayes/Najera
Jianlian/Swift
Lopez/Williams

OR

Harris/Hughes
Hughes/VC/CDR
VC/Hayes/Najera
Jianlian/Swift
Lopez/Williams

If anybody has anything to say about Hughes for Simmons trade could you post it in the Bulls section under "Perfect offseason plan"? Thanks in advance.

Are you kidding me? Why would we trade a pretty big expiring for Larry Hughes and his obese contract?

The deal is undone.

Their contracts actually expire the same year (looking at shamsports.com). Hughes has the bigger contract, but is also the bigger expiring. A lot of factors go in here...both players have suffered from past injuries. Do we help Chicago in the LeBron sweepstakes by giving them the more injured player? What if Simmons is healthy and helps entice LeBron by even just a little? It's more complicated than at first glance.

Bulls fan here

would you guys do a trade around Noc for Simmons. Noc's contract is frontloaded so you pay him less ever year. we could also add in Gooden for Hassel/Swift if that makes more sense to you guys. Or maybe Gordon for Hassel

so the possible trades are
Noc for Simmons
Noc + Gooden for Simmons + Hassel
Noc + Gordon for Simmons + Hassel + protected 1st rd pick

Harris
VC/CDR/Hassel
Noc/Hayes/Najera/Hassel
Jianlian/Swift/Boone
Lopez/Williams/Boone

OR

Harris
VC/CDR/
Noc/Hayes/Najera
Jianlian/Gooden/Swift/Boone
Lopez/Williams/Boone

OR

Harris/Gordon
VC/Gordon/CDR
Noc/Hayes/Najera/Hassel
Jianlian/Swift/Boone
Lopez/Williams/Boone

of course Simmons has TR so the package deals would have to wait until late August ( 23rd ? )

Yeah great, we trade for a long contract (even if it is frontloaded) and another big who will hinder our young guys.

Gooden expires after this season so you don't even have to give him big minutes and he is a good mentor so he will help your young bigs.

if Gooden is an absolute no then how about Noc + Gordon for Simmons +Hassel + protected 1st rd pick since we would only get contracts in this trade while you get two starting calibur players that can help you get to the playoffs

You're not familiar with Lawrence Frank, are you?

Think about why you'd want to trade both Noc/Gordon/Gooden. Those reasons may be the same for us wanting to get rid of our big contracts for picks/young talent.

Either way, we're not looking for these types of deals. We're looking for the same things the Bulls are looking for. That's exactly why we're not the best trading partners this offseason.

Gordon wants a new deal that the Nets arent going to pay because Ratner is shamming most of us on here to believe that we are going to break the bank for Lebron or some other big name FA come 2010 when the arena in brooklyn won't even have the ground broken for construction, and by then the team will continue to bleed ridiculous amounts of money. Ideally, making a trade for Gordon and Nocioni would make this team extemely better on both sides of the ball, but i cant see the Bulls doing it nor Rod Thorn having the permission from Ratner to give BG a new contract.

okay, how about Hughes + Ben Gordon for Simmons + Hassel + pick

this gives the Nets a big expiring to help sign Lebron in 2010 and Gordon, who would be a 3 pt shooter that Lebron would love
