All-Time Rockets
if you could select an All-Time Rockets starting 5, (don't focus only on numbers but on "team-chemistry" as well), how would it look like?

Chemistry? How about this:
5 - Chuck Hayes
4 - Ryan Bowen
3 - Shane Battier
2 - Jon Barry
1 - Bobby Sura
They'd lose every game, but you can't doubt their heart.

Re: All-Time Rockets
Nah its fine TMU was doing an all time Rockets list. This is different. Well if I were looking just based on chemistry then:
Bobby Sura (That's Right)
Clyde Drexler
McGrady
Horry (That's Right)
Hakeem
The reason I like this is because Drexler not only is an efficient scorer, but with his years as a Rocket he was also handling the ball a lot more while also playmaking. Clyde also wasn't a high shot selector with the Rockets, just an efficient scorer overall. McGrady would be the primary scorer on the team, Horry I like next to Hakeem because of the way he can stretch the floor, more or so I like to think of Horry a PF in a SF body. Sura was just filled with team chemistry, toughness, thats what I like out of a PG, just someone that can do their job. He knew how to slash, rebound, score every now and then, was good 3 pt shooter, and had some nice playmaking skills, but overall he was just very tough. That'd be my team simply based on chemistry, interesting thread btw.

Re: All-Time Rockets
C Hakeem Olajuwon
PF Moses Malone
SF Shane Battier
SG Clyde Drexler
PG Sam Cassell
Of the five, I think it's obvious which three are on there because of their talent. Hakeem is the centerpiece, the defensive anchor and the go-to guy on offense. He has great chemistry with his college buddy, Clyde Drexler, arguably the best rebounding and shot-blocking shooting guard in NBA history, and quite a playmaker and scorer in his own right. It seems more natural to put Moses Malone at PF than Sampson, or to slide Hakeem to the 4 in favor of Yao; moreover, you can't really go wrong with a three-time MVP who led the Rockets to the Finals with a cast of scrubs. He's perhaps the greatest offensive rebounder in the modern era and would compliment Hakeem perfectly.
Because Clutch City was based on sharp shooters next to the Dream, I filled it out with high-IQ players who can stroke the three. In addition, Battier offers great perimeter defense; Cassell offers incredible clutch performance. I opted over these two over much more talented options such as McGrady, Murphy, etc. They might certainly make the team much better, but it'd be hard to predict the chemistry of players who have never played together.

You know what? I honestly DID put Maloney there, then thought about how well Sura and Barry got along so I changed it.
Matt was so sick against Utah in 98 lol
But he disapeared after lol

A lot of these lineups are doing the opposite of what the OP was talking about:
I don't see how five scorers who need the ball to be effective could get along on the court.

Re: All-Time Rockets
The original Dream Team was so successful because the rest of the world didn't know how to play.
We saw what happened in 2004 when the US insisted on putting a bunch of scorers on the same team and asked them to perform.
The current Team USA at least has a couple of role players, but the jury is still out on whether or not it can beat a quality team.

beside Prince who else is role player?
Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Melo, Howrd, Bosh, Boozer, Paul, Redd are the team leading scorer
Deron, Kidd are no role player
