I am real impressed by the diversity of Mav fans who each, in their own way, give flavor to this board. We have several different cultures and languages around here and I just wanted to get an idea of whole is where and what languages they speak in case we ever need to call upon you. Plus some topics only air only in certain areas (like Dirk in Germany), which helps to get all the info. Maybe even how you became a Mavs fan.

I'll start.....I live in Portland, OR and can understand Spanish, but speak very little of it. Interest of the Mavs comes from my roots in Dallas. Born and raised Mav fan.

Moved to Texas when I was five
Lived Houston for about a year
Then moved to the Dallas area

Born and raised in the Dallas area (the 'burbs, really). Now in my early 50's will probably live out my life in the area, or maybe East Texas (but I'm gonna do lots of overseas travel during retirement. I love Europe).

Born and raised in Indonesia. Spent the last 4 years in Canada and England for educational purposes. Will be in LA soon for some educational purposes, again. Has been a Mavs + Dirk fan ever since I started to recognize basketball. Speaks only English and Indonesian. I'm hoping to be able to watch a Mavs game in the AAC cause I'd be watching with other Mavs fans, cause practically i know about 2 Mavs fans all my life, haha.

I am a 24yr old (for at least 8 more days) white dude from the DFW area ! I was born and raised here and love Texas, I only speak english and I wouldn't say I have got that langauge down or anything, I suppose I really became a big Mavs fan back in the early 90's specifically the first Jason Kidd era.

I was like the biggest Kidd fan, I went to the two JKidd camps they had when he was here got pic's taken with him, and all that good stuff. He would invite some of the spares to camp like Popeye Jones, and Loren Meyer but hey when your a kid it was a big deal then. So that's my Mavs roots !

I thought I was the oldest geezer here, but Sweet Daddy beats me out in the age dept. Dallas born and raised, Tenn and GA then to Austin for more skoolin' and back to Dallas. Speak what some call english. Can get some spanish if I listen slowly.

My interest for basketball stems from nba live (always hated basketball, im more a soccer guy). Dirk succeeding in the nba made me a Mavs fan, but i consider myself also an nba fan and Dirk fan, because the negativity of this board pisses me off sometimes. Of course the Mavs are my first interest and i always hope for them to succeed, post-Dirk era also.

I'm Mavericks fan since 2000,when I bought NBA live 2000 for Nintendo 64 and I always selected Mavs.
During 2004 play off I began to watch Mavs games live with internet in spite of when there are NBA matches in Italy is night(and the next morning I went to school to sleep )
