if you could select an All-Time Wizards/Bullets startng 5, (don't focus only on numbers but on "team-chemistry" as well), how would it look like?

Just realized...we really dont have anyone other than Unseld as an all-star center. Would anyone consider Moses Malone at center? Anyone else come to mind? We got at least 3 deep in all-stars at all other positions.

Jeff Ruland was an All-Star. The guy averaged 22 points, 12 boards, and 4 assists with a 58% FG% in 1984. :o

I'm not going back farther than the championship season.

PG Arenas/Antonio Daniels
SG Jeff Malone/Rex Chapman
SF Caron Butler/John Williams
PF Elvin Hayes/Chris Webber
C Wes Unseld/Jeff Ruland

Man, we suck at PG outside of Arenas. Frank Johnson, Brent Price, Scott Skiles, Doug Overton, Chris Whitney, Enis Whatley? WTF? Out of deference to Pine, I didn't even consider Rod Strickland.

PG: Arenas, Kevin Porter
SG: Black Jesus, Jeff Malone
SF: Bobby D., errrrrrr.....

Do over

SF: Hayes, Bobby D is the 1st guy off the bench
PF: Gus Johnson, Mahorn (just for fun)
C: Wes, Ruland

I know E and Gus are both prototypical PF's but neither guy can go to the bench and we'd have total domination of the boards. Doesn't matter if E couldn't check a SF out on the perimeter, name me a SF that's going to take it to the rack with the rest of that beef waiting for him?

Gus, Wes, McFilthy and McNasty. Lets get ready to rumble, baby.

Arenas, Pearl, Dandridge, Wes, Elvin are my starters

Why is John Williams being mentioned? He did nothing. He had talent and came off the bench a season or 2, but probably never averaged more than 8 points a game before he got hurt at about 22 years of age and then ate himself out of the league. Blatche has done more than Williams at this point.

Ummm, no.

Williams went for 18.2ppg, 7.6rpg, 4.7 apg in 89-90 and looked like he was just scratching the surface of what he could become. He made it look almost effortless. Blatche hasn't shown a glimmer of what Williams showed. One of the biggest waste of talent to ever hit the league. And that's saying something in that league.

How could you forget Steve Colter, the man who's hair styles always lagged behind current trends by 10 years? He rocked the jheri curl while everyone else had high top fades; then, when he finally got the high top, everyone had moved on from that as well. He was AC Green-esque.

I'd say that Darrell Walker would be better than AD. He'd be the back up.

I remember watching a Bullets practice at Ft Meade with Hot Plate. At the time, my dad was saying things like "son, you'll tell your kids about when you watched John Williams practice in person," etc. :noway:

I was putting together a team using the 79 championship roster and later. Porter was good in his first stint with the Wizards, but was mediocre in his second stint.

Hot plate Williams ate himself out of the league. I remember after one injury, he tried to come back and play and he was over 300 pounds. He definitely was a coulda woulda shoulda. I dont know how he averaged those numbers in 89-90...I thought it was Jeff Malone and Bernard King doing the heavy lifting and they both averaged over 22 points per game, if memory serves me. Did Williams play the whole season...?

Williams played 18 games the year he averaged 18 pts. That was his peak. No way he deserves to be first or second team All-Time Wizards/Bullets at any position. I wish he didn't get hurt though, he could have been an all-time bullet.
