Team will be named OKC Thunder...

Here is a link to the OKC schedule using the name Thunder. None of the other 5 names trademarked are linked to the schedule. On the page the team is referred to as the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Also, rumor has it that Thunder may refer to the thundering of a herd of bison...speculation has it that the logo may include a bison...not a cloud or a lightning bolt.

Just an FYI for all you NBA fans out there.

Although the link was active when I first posted this message, it looks like the link is no longer actively attached to the OKC schedule. I guess someone in NBA IT heard about their mistake and took it down. It's a little too late since hundreds of people and all of OKC talk radio have already checked it out and reported it. I'm sure Clay's not too happy about getting scooped by the NBA. LOL.

Yeah this doesn't prove anything. You can replace "thunder" in the link with any word and the same page will show up apparently.

Thunder? At least go with the Lightning as it is tangible, electric, and can do damage. Thunder is just noise. Its akin to a dog being labeled all bark and no bite.

Then again, there are a lot dumber NBA team names that make no sense, too.

Looks like they closed the link since I posted this. Guess Clay wasn't happy to see the NBA leaking his secret. Let me just say that the link was active until a few minutes ago and it linked to the Oklahoma City schedule. I guess you can take my word for it or not believe me, but I'm not the one who discovered it and I'm certainly not the only one who is talking about it. I'm sorry the link is no longer active.

Well its not quite as bad as Wind...I was kind of pulling for that just because of the hilarity, Thunder is pretty WNBAish. Bad Call.

It makes me think of American Gladiators too, which is probably not a good thing.
