Ideal spot for the Packers. I'm just glad it is over.

Unlike most here, for pure entertainment sake, i wanted to see Brett land in Tampa and thus have to play him in game four.

But if the Jets offer was best, that's best for the team

If i was Brett though, i'd have refused to go there and made the Packers trade him to the Bucs. With the Jets in the same division as the Pats and many good teams in the AFC, a playoff berth seems very remote.

I'm glad he's going to the AFC.

BTW, ESPN has picked it up, too.

Thirded.

Adios, Brett. Thanks for the years, good luck, etc. Time to focus on our game Monday night. That's all I care about now.

Sounds like their front office and EM were putting on the love-fest lately and made him feel the appreciation he wasn't getting in GB.

Let me say, part of me is very sad right now in a very in the distance sort of way. I'm sure it will pass, but I do feel it. Packers will move on and move on strongly.

Yep. As much as I love Wisconsin sports teams getting national media attention, this was getting old. At least we don't have to play the Jets this year (unless it's in the Superbowl)...

Good, rather the Jets than the Bucs. Hopefully this media frenzy ends with it.

My family is Pro Favre and all I hear is bitching how they want to see Rodgers fail to stick it to Packers management, I can't stand it, I'm upset Favre is gone but hell I'm still gonna root for my team regardless of what they do.

Any word on what the Packers got in return?

Sounds like it could end up being a 1st if the Jets do well this season.

Yeah...I'm gonna miss the guy, despite his BS this past offseason. I'll always been a Favre fan, but I'm looking forward to the Rodgers era.

P.S. Are we getting the 4th that escalates to a 2nd, per Glazer and Clayton?

I was just watching ESPN.....I'll admit that it was actually pretty hard for me to watch that......we've talked about trades, but now the finality of it all hit like a ton of bricks.

For better or worse, starting now the national media will leave the Packers alone. No more wall to wall coverage of Green Bay. It will all be Favre and the Jets from now on.

We're Packer Nation and we're on our own here for the first time since 1995 when the national media came on the Green Bay bandwagon after the SF playoff upset.

Maybe so, but Favre has almost no chance to get in the playoffs in a tough AFC, the Pats in the division, and the Jets not having enough talent.

Oh well, that's his problem to deal with, not mine and like others here, i'm just glad all the crap is over with.

Couldn't agree more. Favre has been QB'ing this team since I was 12 years old. It's a solemn moment to actually see him traded. But I'm die-hard every TEAM in this state, and that is where allegiances lie.

It's time for Rodgers to prove quite a few people wrong, and make TT look good here. Rodgers now becomes the #1 story in all of this.
