Great point about the Jets/Wolf connection back in 1991 Digitalfool.

One other thing that will be interesting, the fans in NY are going to have very high expectation for Favre & the Jets now.If Favre & the Jets dont live up to those expectations the NYJ fans & media will BBQ him.

Not as friendly and foregiving as we are in Wisconsin.

Should be interesting.

Doesn't that fit the profile? The strongest, maybe greatest QB ever is having Deanna call many shots here. The interesting thing is not that Deanna was calling the shots but the fact that Brett was probably relieved to have her making decisions so he didn't have to.

She is a ball buster.....for her to call Favre in the middle of his meeting with MM, you know she was telling Favre what to say, i would be so pissed if I was MM....she was the one who brought him to GB Sunday night...she is a smart calculating businesswoman....who will just have to shop in Manhattan rather than ride the coaster at the Mall of America.

I'm reading the Jets board at this link:

http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=34195

I feel violated with all those Jets guys who have now photoshopped the Jet's uniform on Favre and are talking about ordering #4 jerseys.....

That said, it's nice to see the fun those guys are having.....we can relate.

The Giants are probably pissed, they are the defending champs and they will be an afterthough in NY to ''Brett Favre & the NY Jets''.

We're currently getting a 4th round pick.

If Favre takes 50% of the snaps we get a 3rd round pick.
If Favre takes 70% of the snaps and the Jets make the playoffs we get a 2nd round pick.
If Favre takes 80% of the snaps and the Jets make the Super Bowl we get a 1st round pick.

I'm thrilled. If Green and Gold or retiremet weren't options, him going to the AFC was certainly the next best option.

And, with the possibility of escalating draft picks, we still have a reason to cheer for him. :D

Good luck, Brett.

I feel for Chad Pennington though, a very classy player. He will be cut tomorrow for obvious cap space reasons.

I think there's a solid chance we may be seeing him a couple times this season.

Reading that thread, it's kind of hilarious the talk some of them have going on. 11-5 and in the playoffs, getting two good years from Brett and competing for a ring. I mean, Brett is no doubt going to make them a potential playoff team, but they still have a very bad defense. Not to mention playing Brady and the Pats twice a year (Brady vs Favre, Christ imagine the media storm) and playing in the AFC.

I wish Brett the best and hope he gives the Jets and their fans something to cheer about. The reality that he's gone and the media with him, is hitting me like a ton of bricks.

I support the Pack but I am sad nonetheless. No matter what happened, I will miss Brett a great deal and he will always be a favorite player of mine. It is amazing that he could lead a team to as good of a season as he did last year and be one of the best all time and not get to play in a Packer uniform due to this whole deal. He did it to himself sure but it is still sad. I just really hope Rodgers is good or else we are going to be depressed all season on this board.

Just remember, one losing season in 16 years with Brett, that was a damn good ride.

It was funny because last night i read a bit on a Tampa Bat forum and they were so amped because they thought they were getting Brett, some even made photoshop pics. Now the Jets fans are in a frenzy.

Hard to blame Jets fans, they haven't had a good team or QB for some time. I think the AFC is to tough for a playoff berth, but i'll be cheering for Brett and the Jets.

That's one big reason i'm glad he's in the AFC, i can cheer for them and not worry it affects the Packers, plus i hate the Patriots.

Hopefully this whole saga gets the Packer players to play with a bit of a chip on their shoulders and more than anything, Rodgers can stay healthy because if he doesn't, we are toast this year.

Clayton: Deal a downer for Favre

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingc ... id=3523022

True, he tested the will of the Packers' organization and lost. He thought he was big enough to get his release. He wasn't. He thought he could force a trade to the Vikings. He couldn't.

The Packers beat down their icon.

Sad...sad story.
