Olympic Questions...

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Thu Aug 7, 2008 4:45 pm

Three Questions...

1. What are the team rankings for Men's BBALL for the upcoming Olympics?

2. Does anyone know the starting lineup?

3. Will TEAM USA games be on NBA TV LIVE or taped?

I'm getting nervous. I hear grumblings that team USA's offense is a lot like DUKE's offense. Spread the floor 3's, iso's, and play great D. I hear that the flow is a challenge, that the offense isn't very pretty. Man if Coach K can't get these guys to win, I may have to find another college team to root for, I've been a DUKE fan nearly as long as a LAL fan.

Any other TEAM USA comments would be appreciated.

 Go Lakers!  Go TEAM USA!

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=830623&start=0

Team rankings:
1. USA
2. Spain
3. Greece
4. Argentina
5-12. Everybody else

If I had to guess how everyone else falls it would be
5. Lithuania
6. Australia
7. Germany
8. China
9. Russia
10. Croatia
11. Iran
12. Angola

Dont quote me on 5-12

Since #1's been answered, i'll answer #2/#3 for you.

The starting lineup, as seen in the friendlies theyve played so far, is:

PG - Kidd
SG - Kobe
SF - Carmelo
PF - Lebron
C - Howard

With the bench consisting of Deron, Paul, Redd, Prince, Bosh, Boozer, and Wade.

Like the practice games, they'll most likely be shown both live and taped. Live, they'll be really early though, Prolly like at 3am PT. Im just guessing though. They might not be replayed at all, but I doubt that considering their magnitude.

vs. China: Aug. 10, 10:15 a.m. ET
vs. Angola: Aug. 12, 8 a.m. ET
vs. Greece: Aug. 14, 8 a.m. ET
vs. Spain: Aug. 16, 10:15 a.m. ET
vs. Germany: Aug. 18, 8 a.m. ET

I think the games are on a variety of NBC channels, but I didn't look too hard for that.

Ya but I think he will get plenty of P.T specially when this might be his last Olympic.
Also I recall him talking to coach K about how he doesnt care if he starts or gets a lot of P.T as long as he can help, contribute, and support the team in anyway he can.
Thats class and commitment to winning if you ask me.
I love Kidds leadership skills, for a guy who came into the league confused about his role in the NBA, he has came a long way.

Kidd will definitely keep his starting spot with Bryant in the backcourt, but that doesnt mean he will get more minutes overall than Paul/Deron.

I doubt that, J.Kidd is a Vet and the respect will be given to him to lead this team.
Also I believe him and Kobe are the Captains of Team USA so its hard to believe either one of them will be coming off the bench.

All the players will get time. So the starters are not as important and I see some of the bench as starters if the main starters do not step up.

Fkk NBC. Screwed everyone in the west coast out of the game.

Now were forced to watch a super laggy stream, or wait 3hrs for the replay.

I watched the game live on NBC, the reason it's 7AM or w/e for you PST is b/c they want to air it live :P EST is exactly 12 hours behind China Time. Will the games be replayed though? i won't be able to watch them this week :(
