1. Houston- The Artest effect.
2. Boston- Still have KG though less intensity overall
3. Orlando- Howard's a beast. Battie and MP will make a big difference.
4. San Antonio- TD & Bowen are getting older, so some more slippage.
5. Detroit- Age, new Coach, personnel changes?
6. Dallas- Diop, Kidd, and Carlisle will make this a good defensive club.
7. Los Angeles- Watch out for these guys.
8. Philadelphia- Adding Brand to an already good defensive club means business.
9. Cleveland- As configured they are a good defensive club.
10. New Orleans- Paul is overrated defensively but Posey does help.

You know, when you have a back court projected to average 3 SPG. and a Front Court that's projected to average 5 BPG. You tend to believe you'll be one of the better defensive teams.

4. Detroit (If they still have the same team they have right now)
5. New Orleans
6. LA Lakers
7. Utah
8. Orlando
9. Cleveland
10. Dallas

I am almost 100% sure that Orlando wont be in the top ten. Nelson, Turk, Out of position Shard just doesnt = top ten defense to me but i do hope your right. Also i dont see NO up there either as Paul, Peja, and West arent really good defenders.

IMO:
1. Houston
2. Detroit
3. Boston
4. San Antonio
5. Utah

We were top 10 last season. Plus, we improved on our biggest defensive weakness in the perimeter, by signing MP. I expect us to be at least top 10 this season, and maybe a chance to be top 5.

The Lakers will surprise people defensively imo. They have 2 legit shotblockers and a front line that averages basically 7' tall across three positions. Then they have Kobe (first team defender) and Fisher (solid defender) outside. It's going to be hard to score against what I believe will be a 5+ bpg front line plus solid perimeter D.

They may surprise people, but they won't be better than SA, Houston, or Boston. I can tell you that right now.

I could see San Antonio slipping.

Definitely not Boston or Houston, but I could see them finishing anywhere from 3rd-5th defensively.
