Bobcats' 2008-09 schedule
The Bobcats' 2008-09 schedule will be released today, along with the rest of the NBA schedule.
Once it's made available, we can talk about it here.
I'm hoping we have a LOT more home games to close out the season next year than we did this year!!

Re: Bobcats' 2008-09 schedule
17 of first 30 at home, it looks like. Fairly balanced. A little grim at the end of the year, as usual.
We have 6 straight at home in the first month, nice.

Any word of a nationally televised game yet?

Maybe I miscounted...but I'm seeing O games on nat'l TV this year. You'd think they'd at least televise us at the Knicks.

Re: Bobcats' 2008-09 schedule
According to both the Cats website and the NBA's website schedule, ZERO games for national TV.
This national broadcast focus on a relative few teams is getting to be pathetic. Since I live in Missouri I have to get League Pass anyway. But if the Cats don't do something about getting a PF to start next to EO50 I may pass on the pass. I usually watch the free weeks to see how this team is shaping up before purchasing prior to opening night. Still think it's going to be an interesting season, but I want what I want which is what we all want....a LEGIT 4!

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Re: Bobcats' 2008-09 schedule
I guess our schedule is fairly unremarkable. We end the year on the road, but against a few eastern teams at least. There's a slight bias of home games early, but nothing too crazy, so it's not like last year where we really needed a head start early.

Re: Bobcats' 2008-09 schedule
even the premier league schedule makers will occasionally show fulham vs bolton or stoke vs west ham. but tis the nature of stern's nba. you wanna get on tv you gotta get a media darling or win a lot of games. looks like we better start winning cause we aint go no grandmama in c-town these days.

Re: Bobcats' 2008-09 schedule
Wow, not a single game on national TV. It's not like we're a boring team to watch. Maybe we should get into a brawl with another team so we get some national tv love next year. Stern would bitch about that publicly like there's no tomorrow, but I bet he'd put us on national TV then.

Orlando 12
Washington 11
Miami 11
Atlanta 1
Charlotte 0
Cleveland 25 (WTF)
Chicago 10 (WTF)
Detroit 14 (ZZZZZZZZZZZZ)
Milwaukee 1 (we are better than milwaukee, have been since expansion and we're a f'in expansion team)
If Charlotte is going to get 0 games, then I expect the worser 8 teams (including the Bulls) should also receive 0 so it is fair.

On that list I'd say Detroit's number is the most appropriate. It's unbelievable that Cleveland gets over a quarter of their games televised nationally.

I thought there was some kind of rule that every team had to be on TV once? Wasn´t the ESPN game against Orlando last year not announced as National TV until very late?

Re: Bobcats' 2008-09 schedule
e4Nf6- I don't think there's any type of requirement, but it's true that the Orlando gam wasn't announced, but I think at this time last year we were marked down for a nationally televised game, but this switched to the Orlando game.

Re: Bobcats' 2008-09 schedule
I'm definitely surprised we didn't get a game on ESPN/TNT, considering Larry's here and he is who he is and is relative to a media darling, and then you have the returns to MSG, one of those.
Chicago - Derrick Rose, Chicago-big market, expectations to be better than last season... they even got on TV when they were bad for some years after Jordan. The Chicago market being the reason for that, again.
Detroit - Just look at their team and success, they have to get a bunch of games
Milwaukee - Yi Jianlian, Yi vs. Yao, chinese hype/market

If we win games, we'll get at least one national showcase.

Yi isn't a Buck anymore. Richard Jefferson vs Yao isn't as exciting.
