Marquis to Seattle Idea

Post#1 » by greenway84 » Thu Aug 7, 2008 5:21 pm

I know Marquis is an Exp contract. But i was thinking if we traded for another exp that made sense for both teams we could do it. Now over the past months iv read that marquis would be a good fit for seattle. so i had 2 ideas.

1.Marquis FOR Marshall

2.Marquis, McRoberts, 2nd FOR Wilcox

I like Wilcox and I think he will turn out to be something worst case senario we rent him for 1 year and then he signs else where. same risk for Seattle plus the get a little insurance with the pick. And to be honest they could turn around and resign Wilcox if they wanted. So this is a low risk move for both.

I love the 2nd idea. I think Wilcox would be a great fit on the Pacers

The first trade is just swapping garbage, why bother?

Oklahoma City is pretty loaded on the wings. Why trade Wilcox for Daniels when they'll want Westbrook, Durant and Green to get as much time as possible. Besides, trading would prevent their W5 lineup from ever finding the court (Watson, Westbrook, Wilkens, White and Wilcox)

We're just going to let the whole "Seattle" thing go without comment?

Ok :whistling:

I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

Let's trade Tinsley to Seattle. They are desperate for a point guard. Or any other kind of NBA representative.

I don't see any point in trading Daniels, unless he can be part of a package to get rid of Tinsley, or part of a package to bring in our long-term answer at power forward or something like that. Otherwise, erasing $7 million off our payroll next summer is better than anything we can trade Quis for.

It's probably what we should have done with Croshere in the first place, given how little bang for the buck the Pacers have gotten out of Daniels.

Dammit you beat me...

I had something prepared along these lines...

"I agree that Marquis hasn't had much success in Indiana, but what good will trading him to the Storm be? Sure, I'd love to have Sue Bird or Swin Cash but I doubt Daniels wants the label of the first NBA players to be traded to the WNBA. With that said, Kristen O'Neill is a hottie."

Marquis, Foster , Rasho, etc. Those that are expiring WE NEED TO KEEP!!!

seriously unless its a chance to grab a top 15 player , we need to let those guys walk at the end of this year

Top 15? I'd like to keep Foster, but I agree, unless its a deal that makes us significantly better or gets us a young player at a position of need...keep them. At least until the deadline when players like them will have more value to playoff bound teams.

theyre no where close to desprete of a PG. They're probably the team that has to most quality PGs in the league and need to get rid of one. With Ridnour, Watson and now Westbrook. What are they going to do with Tinsley?

The trade of Daniels, McRoberts and 2nd Rounder for Wilcox is a good trade. But I doubt OKLAHOMA (not Seattle, they dont have a team no more) would do the trade.

Well he good thing about that is Quis already has the long hair going him, so he'll probably just need some eye shadow to fool the public. Hey he might even add a few more dunks for th WNBA

Ehhh...evidently you didnt pick up on the tongue-in-cheek nature of his post. The "or any other NBA representative" kind of gave it away for me... ;)

ok. ok i messed up give me a break. lol.
1. I did forget about westbrook.
2.The realgm trade checker still says seatlle come on gimme a break. lol
3. I understand daniels is an exp so is wilcox so for the we shouldnt trade him for that reason is void.
4.the Marshall trade would just save us money this year, and is an exp, also i doubt marshall will get arrested will waiting for his contract to exp. leaving daniels on the team there is a chance he will.

there is some early indication that Quis is working on his shooting and may come back prepared to fight for PT. maybe he realizes its a contract year.
