Headline: Igu to get more than Deng

Is it just me, or does anyone else think "how is this a headline?"...

Of course AI will get more than Deng... He is better at every single part of basketball... isn't he?

I allways thought Andre >>>>> Luol.
Does anyone disagree?

I'm not sure if any of these guys, with the exception of Okafor and likely Josh Smith, are worth the investment their teams are making in them.

Igu was pretty terrible in the playoffs, and Deng isn't exactly a superstar. But they'll end up making money near the level that Wade, Bosh, and Bron made on their contracts. You have to sign them, but I'm not sure what it bodes for the future of those teams.

I think Iguodala is better than Deng, by a fair margin, but it's not a landslide either.

He's a more versatile player, especially as a playmaker and defender. Deng's not a bad defender himself, but he strikes me as more of an efficient scorer (with limited range).

I would rather have Iggy and he is a great fit for Philly. I think they'll have to give him that money.

12 mil a year isnt even superstar money. he should get the money if philly wants better chance at winning. He is also one of few guys in the L to avg 19,5,5 for the past 2 years. kobe, tmac, james are the other ones. pretty good group. philly definetaly should give him the money

Both of these players are getting paid as if they are franchise changing players, when in fact, they're not.

The likes of a Wade/LeBron are getting ~$14M as we stand today. -- That's $2M more than Iguoadala....

Nothing against WePainters,

But am I the only that find it funny when fans of players skew stats to make them look better than they are..
Like why 19,5,5? So Igoudala can look like he is on the same company as the above..Surely you dont want to add that the other players blow by this 19,5,5 club?!?!

I think Igoudala is good and they have to sign to the money because what was the point of signing brand if you wernt going to sign IGGY RIght?!?!

(Still the biggest regret a RAPS FAN HAS)..sigh!!

I think what he meant is they're making the MAX you can get after your rookie contract. Iguodala won't be be making the same amount but it's still relatively close and a lot more than Ellis/Okafor/Deng. Heck he'd get 5m more than Al Jefferson if the reported 5/70 is true. Fair value would be at around 6/72 which averages at 12m and that's what Iguodala is worth. He's not a franchise player or a #1 option.
