Good or bad offseason thus far?

Post#1 » by TXSun » Fri Aug 8, 2008 7:53 am

Bad offseason in my opinion with maybe the acquisition of Barnes and drafting Lopez being the slim highlights. I can't be all that happy after we've seen TLue and JWill literally slip right thru our fingers not to mentioned we also missed out on solid back-up PGs such AJohnson, CArroyo, and EBoykins. Our main priority coming into this offseason was to find Nash a true ligitimate back-up PG that can give us 10-20 solid minutes. Now we are deep into the offseason and we're going "all in" on Dragic coming on board this season? That just doesn't make much sense to me. This is a major gamble and i don't like that fact that "officially" we are now putting all our chips on Dragic. I'm gonna stop now before I get more upset and sadden, but what is you guys take on this offseason?

C +.

I will upgrade it to a B if they get Dragic this season.

I would have to agree with the C+ and the upgrade to a B if we get Dragic.

"Holy yarn Batman! How many duplicate threads do we need?"

viewtopic.php?f=27&t=828416

I know its on page 2 now, but maybe if we didn't have so many reruns playing it wouldn't be!

By the way, what's the official offseason thread for?

Really, some guys just seem to be unable to look 2-3 pages back and than we have a ton of meaningles treads with topics that have already been disscussed. I don't wanna be an ass or anything but it just bothers me.

Peace!

If you would have read the Official Offseason Thread, you would know that TASTIC is on holiday and we have been left to fend for ourselves, since I am assuming Tsherkin is probably sleeping!

PS I am not just picking on you, there are an arse load of duplicates on here! And I can only duplicate myself once, since each time I do, my intelligence is split between my two selves, one more split and it will be velcro shoes for me!

no hard feeling man, I didn't know i had to go back 3-4 pages to find a topic of interest. Besides the offseason is well on its "mid-season" form and I was looking for a spot to express my opinions on it thus far. Perhaps I should have called it the "Official offseason halfway point" thread? just teasing man. In a fairness, lets have our mods merge them if they feel it's appropriate.

LOL...I wouldn't go back 3 or 4 pages either, but when I read a post and my first thought is of some dejavu scenario, where I am living Groundhog Day, over and over and over, it becomes trying.

NEW RULE: If you have less than 100 posts then do NOT create your own topic, just browse the boards and add your opinion when you feel something come to you on a topic. I have less then 100 so I will abide by this. Who seconds this?

It's a good idea, but I think I made my point on how easy it would be to get to 100 posts!

Rules and Laws do no good if there are ways to circumvent them and/or no way to enforce them!

Unless the mods want to lock all the newbs threads! LOL

in all fairness, lock 'em merge 'em if mods feel it's inappropriate. To the question on hand, I'm hating this offseason thus far unless a miracle happens in the new few days.

Thus far = to date = as of now = current valid post

Jeezus.... you'd think realgm charged some of us for each viewing.

as for the topical inquiry, I see nothing but average manuvers, but it is largely what was expected given the purse string parameters in place. Unless there was a major change of policy, not much could have been done outside of finding an addition who would take a pay cut ( see Hill, Barnes). It was a subtle victory actually keeping the #1 draft pick.

I will maintain my belief that this season will hinge upon the improvement of players from last year and team chemistry...ie Barbososo, Doris, the Shaqtus, DJ, Tucker to some extent. IMO, Porter could be the best signing of the off season...at least there is more cohesion with the front orfice puppetry....and a focus on Defense. How many times have you heard 'Offense wins games, Defense wins championships'
What ? Me Worry ?
