Ian kennedy goes thud...

Post#1 » by TKF » Sat Aug 9, 2008 3:24 am

I know some may say , he is still young and don't give up on young pitchers, but tonight , he had a chance to make a start, have a good showing and secure a spot in the rotation that needs help. Instead he goes thud.!!! can't even make it out of the third inning. This guy is not fooling anyone and his pitches are not missing bats... I just don't know....

That 3rd inning was a joke, I don't think there was a single hit that inning that was hit hard. All bloops and bleeders.

Considering your track record (ala Mussina and Melky), this makes me smile. :)

Kennedy will be just fine. :D

and that is what the angels do. But come playoff time, those hits are few and far between. The year they won, they were a wildcard team that got hot and had a couple of guys on fire( tim salmons) for one I think. They are a good regular season team and they have our number in the playoffs, but their style just can't beat teams like boston when it counts it seems... anyway, I am used to seeing the angels score 8 runs on infield hits and bloopers, with that said, kennedy just doesn't make guys miss much.... and his fast ball is very average..

I really have no idea where this "cocky" stuff came from and I don't understand why Kay keeps talking about it, he hasn't done anything or said anything in that regard.

Also, Kennedy has been in AAA and was called up as an injury replacement to face the best team in baseball in his hometown in front of 25 family/friends and who knows how many more watching on tv. Hard to really expect anything from him tonight.

It was easy to expect something from him tonight, and he let us down.

No ifs, ands or butts.

But that doesn't mean his career is a failure. It just means he sucked tonight.

Definitely sucked tonight. But I'm just saying that if anybody went into this game and honestly expected a quality start, they were fooling themselves. Regardless, 2+ innings isn't acceptable.

We expected a quality start. He was certainly due for one.

Why lower the standards before you start the game?

I'm not really big on pre-made excuses.

ian sucked and Bruney needs to go back on the DL... I have seen the angels struggle for runs, but when they play us, they score runs by accident, it is so easy for them.. wow..

Tampa wins, bosox lose, so back to 6.5 out.. we need to worry about the wild card now, because the rays seem like they don't want to lose....

thanks Ian... have a nice trip back down to AAA. I think he needs the whole year there

mets didn't give up on mike pelfrey and look at him now .. 10-7 with a 3.85 era

young pitchers need time, not all turn out good that fast. it takes 1-2 years ... you have to live through the struggles because let me tell you, seeing pelfrey do well feels good because he was a homegrown talent.

Yup, that is what I've been saying.

It's absurd to give up on Kennedy after a bad half year.

Let him work in the minors for the rest of the year and start over next year. But do not sell low on him. He's better than this.. we need to have patience.

Out of sight out of mind. Hence, the powers that be should keep IPK in the minors until next season. He has already cost us enough.
