Now i don't mean on a vacation with a one way ticket! But rather to play for one of the Euro teams and come back next yr maybe or stay for all three.

I don't think he would ever go for that. Hes not a developing player, he's just too injured and too much of a liability both on and off the court, and sending him to Europe like a draft pick doesn't really accomplish anything.

While I would love to, I am sure that it he would have to agree to it, and of course he never would... But I am not to worried about him, I honestly feel that at some point this year before the deadline he will be moved, and he will no longer be our problem... Prob will be moved as the deadline is approaching....

I bet he wouldn't agree to go that's why we need to trick him. We'll tell him he has won the EuroLotto and send him over there to get his prize then we steal his passport and ID and burn his return ticket. Then he has no choice but to stay and play for a Euro Team.

This is not an option. The only way he could go to Europe would be if we were to buy him out. The only ways out of his contract are through a trade or a buyout. Unless one of those two things happens, he will be an Indiana Pacer for the duration of his contract.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

theres no point. That wouldnt rescind his contract, we're still liable for the money we owe him.

Too bad it's not like Baseball we could send him to Triple A Omaha or some place like that. That's a real gut check for a veteran player. Unfortunately I figured we couldn't do something like this.

Now I dont think we can send him overseas., but wouldnt we have the right to send him to play for the Mad Ants. To cut down our active roster to 15.

No you cannot send player with over 2 years of service to the minors.

And...players you send down to the NBDL still count on your active roster limit of 15 players.

There should be and off court clause in contracts. some type of penalty for bad behavior. something!

There is, but there's an awful lot of leeway in how the CBA determines violations of the "morals clause" in contracts. Sprewell strangled his coach and I think he still got all the cash that was on his contract when the Warriors waived him after that incident.

Return to Indiana Pacers
