Another below avg. game for D12. He looks like he's kinda sleepwalking out there. Always the last one up the floor, never demanding the ball or boxing out. Taking alley-oop passes when he gets them.

I guess the guards have made it resoundingly clear that the show is theirs and that if the big guys want the ball they have to stay quiet until they're given their cookies.

Well he did have 13 points, tied for 3rd in scoring for the game.

I saw him get blocked - that was a rare sight. 3-5 from the FT line.

Dwight couldn't hit anything but dunks against China. Everything else was getting blocked. Please someone teach this kid how to pump fake. I could teach my grandma how to freaking pump fake in a 5 minute session. Dwight hasn't learnt it in 4 seasons of NBA action. Somebody whisper the phrase in his ear or something. I feel like I've been bagging Dwight all offseason and I feel bad about it, but damn I want to see some improvement.

Yes, I did just paste that from the other thread.

You're right he does kind of seem half asleep out there. I notice it on the defensive end more than anything. He's not really expected to do much offensively.

dwight had a decent game, but this is USA basketball, he doesnt have to dominate every possession of the game for them to win.

Also, you know that every player tries not to be too demanding and tries to share the ball, this is probably dwight's way of being "unselfish" :dontknow:

Dwight for David Lee please!!

Anyways you cant put ALL the blame on Dwight, ALL of the guards are playing for their own stats I just watched the entire game there seems to not be alot of TEAM chemistry.... Its just grab the ball and run, I feel like Im watching the All Star Game no set plays.. Of course this is going to hurt Dwight and also the other bigs Bosh and Boozer havent been much of a factor either. these players have to run sets to have a big game. Otherwise they just get tired running back and forth. By the time Dwight gets to the other end its already heading back the other direction. Try doing that for 6-7 mins in a row, I guarntee if your over 6'10 you will get tired as well.

My big question is what happened to his rebounding? He's not even trying to get any rebounds.. I'm still shocked that Bosh got 8 rbs in 13 mins with Dwight only getting 2 in over 20 mins.

how can anyone say USA isn't playing team ball.......we must be watching different games. They look much better then the '04 team in terms of unselfishness, that's for sure. They just gotta hit the open 3's @ a higher clip agaist the better teams tho....

What time did this air in the US? What channel? Will it re-air on primetime? I have no idea what time these games are on.

It came on around 10:15 AM on NBC this morning.

I don't know if it will re-air though.

I saw the block, but not much else. He does not look dominating out there, that is for sure, but it was Yoa, who always gives him trouble.

Most have been watching different games. Dwight had several enforcing plays and emphatic dunks. So he got blocked. So what it happens. He is playing with perimeter players that like to dominate the ball. I guess people expect perfection everytime he is on the floor lol.

Anyone who expects Dwight to dominate in international play needs a reality check.

Even though I know Dwight isn't supposed to be dominating the International league. I gotta say he isn't looking that impressive at at all. A lot of times he just looks like he's just standing on the court. And when he's getting the ball, he's just throwing it up at the rim.

It's just the way the USA plays. In my opinion if the USA would actually run some plays and involve the big guys, they would even be better in the half court offense than all other countries. Right now they thrive on getting steals and outrun the opponents. Entertaining at times but against teams with better transition D like Greece and Spain they're going to have a hard time.

Dwight is good for some much needed defense but don't expect them to involve him on offense besides the occasional drive and kick. I'm not sold on it being good for Dwights development playing for team USA. But if I were him I'd want to represent my country too. He's just living his dream and I hope he will succeed in getting his gold medal. He deserves it after giving us a great 4 years already!

Personally, I thought Dwight looked pretty good out there today. Yea his rebounding was not good today but offensively he played decent and was solid on defense. That is what Team USA needs from him. They don't need him to get 20 pts/15 reb a night. They just need him to be a role player just like almost ever player on the team. It is a lot harder for bigs to dominate international play for one reason or another.

Exactly, and honestly I think that he is learning the international game slower than most of his counterparts. And another thing that I'm noticing, Coach K must not be doing alot of coaching. There's not alot of fundamental ball movement from the USA. It's all creatively forced by the players.
We should all expect the national media to hate us.
