Thats def. way too much money . He needs to make a major jump in terms of production to ever justify that kind of money.

Wow they over payed way too much for the 3rd best player on their team. I don't see him ever making the all-star team.

ever? I think he will... but I don't know, a lot of teams overpay so right now it's nothing out of the ordinary.. but they have a lot tied up in him and Brand.

he gets 13 mil a year...thats not bad....if he can get back to his 06-07 form it will be good. I dont see it as too much. He definately needs to improve. But considering that he plays D, he can reb, he can pass, and he can score...it doesnt sound like its overpaying.

This contract will be hard to move in a couple of years just like RJ's was for NJ . A 2nd-3rd option really shouldn't get that much money.

Maybe he ( unlike RJ ) can become a player worth that kind of money.

Definitely over paid for him....

Andre Miller is better than Andre Iguodala? Don't think so.

He will make an All-Star game at least once in his career, but he is a Pippen, not a Jordan. He will never be good enough to lead his team to the promised land.

Atleast he didn't get what Rashard Lewis got from Orlando...Philly really couldn't afford to lose Iguodala after signing Brand if the organization wants to win it in the next few years.

Word is "only" 71 million guaranteed.

I agree, it's too much. We've seen worse contracts recently, but it does hurt his trade value in future years.

He is a 2nd tier guy and is probably worth like 10-11 million per year. We overpaid but it isn't outrageous when you consider his age,talent,durability(only missed 6 games in his career, has played all 82 three out of his four seasons) and his high character off the court.

Too much, regardless 71/80, but they really did have to keep Iguodala, no denying that.

Iguodala has developed his mid-range shot notably over the last year and a half, but he needs to get a bit more consistent with it. Still also has to become a better 3PT shooter. Getting more experience as a top offensive option will help him, especially with Brand around now. Really struggled in the playoffs against Detroit, but with the situation team and individually-wise, it was basically set up for a drop off compared to the regular season for Iguodala. Now, things are significantly improved and going to be easier on Iggy. He'll be in his better suited role as #2 guy, because he's probably not going to be at the Kobe/Wade/Pierce/T-Mac swingman star level.

He can defend well, rebound well, create for others well, and is an above-average scorer. Also has proven to be a relatively clutch player, specifically coming up big-time a handful of times since AI was dealt back in 06-07.

He will probably always be overpaid to a degree, but he's still going to get better. Really only being allowed to blossom and have increased responsibility offensively, for a year and a half.

I think he will be an all-star one or two times.

I can attest to him being nice off the court.. saw him at my girlfriend's party my freshman year at UofA. Ha.
