Orlando Magic Pre-Season Schedule

Post#1 » by DiplomaticMagic » Wed Aug 13, 2008 1:33 am

The Orlando Magic will start their preseason schedule with three consecutive home games, beginning with an Oct. 6 game against Atlanta at Amway Arena.

The third of the first three games is against a Russian professional team, CSKA Moscow, the Euro League's reigning champion. CSKA Moscow is one of three Euro League teams coming to the states to play five exhibition games against NBA clubs. The other two are FC Barcelona and Lietuvos Rytas.

In all, the Magic will play seven exhibition games, concluding with an Oct. 22 home date with Memphis. The club will play one neutral-site game in Jacksonville against the Miami Heat.

The Magic open the regular season at home Oct. 29 against Atlanta.

The preseason schedule:

Oct. 6: Atlanta (7 p.m.)

Oct. 8: Charlotte (7 p.m.)

Oct. 10: CSKA Moscow ( 7 p.m.)

Oct. 16: at Charlotte (10:30 a.m.)

Oct. 18: Miami (at Jacksonville, 7:30 p.m.)

Oct. 20: at Atlanta (7 p.m.)

Oct. 22: Memphis (7 p.m.)

Both season openers at home vs. Atlana. But what a **** schedule. The best team we play is the Hawks?

I don't understand why only two of our games are outside our division, one of which being Moscow, lol.

Plus 2 games against Charlotte and 2 against Atlanta? Could we get some diversity? I guess it's good they won't have to travel too much early on.

I guess they don't want us to travel much during pre-season. Which I could understand, them being meaningless games

Its just a warmup - you dont really see starters going in full steam so its pretty irrelevant who we play since its just bench's and what not.

It would have been nice to get some diversity, but its just getting court time for everyone - getting people running out and stretching their legs.

There may never be another day greater than when Diener single handedly beat the Spurs in a preseason game a couple of years ago. Masterful.

Didn't this same Russian team win the Championship in Europe this past year. One other thing NBA teams didn't do all that well when the last time the NBA and Europe played in Europe. So I wouldn't say that the pre-season games are all that weak.

As long as we don't lose to the Russians I will be happy lol. That is stupid that both the preseason and season openers are against Atlanta.

Not Magic home games.

Usually, you can count on less than one finger how many preseason games are on.....zero.

I bought one of the 15 game packs from the Orlando magic and it included the game against russia. I know I am not waking up at 8:45am to go to the arena to watch basketball. I did not look at the time but I really hope it is not at 10:30am. That would suck.

I remember following along to the box score on the internet.

That was probably the most excited I've ever been for a preseason game.
