Did Pierce party too much this summer?

Post#1 » by GonzoLays » Wed Aug 13, 2008 11:54 pm

Pierce is going on TWO STRAIGHT MONTHS of none stop, balls to the wall partying. It was just last week he got pulled over in Vegas at 3 am. I know he lives there in the offseason, who cares. He was out at 3 am. Plus, it makes the post flow better if you think he was partying and not on a late night milk run.

I'm not saying the man shouldn't enjoy himself, but he is approaching rockstar level partying at this point.

Shouldn't he be rehabbing/working on his game/conditioning for a repeat run? Maybe I'm clueless to how NBA players party in the offseason, but I'm quite sure they aren't doing what Paul Pierce is doing - at least the great players aren't. Did he over do it?

Sure, he earned the right to party likes it 1999, but it sure as hell didn't mean he had to do it. He played himself into shape this year and peaked in the playoffs. Does he plan on doing the same thing this season?

I remember Paul stating that he was going to come back this season looking like Ray Allen. With the way he has been partying, its more likely that he comes back looking like Charles Barkely circa 1992 than looking like Ray Allen.

What Pierce does on his free time is none of your business, just like what you do on your off time is not the business of your boss or co-workers or anyone. He is allowed to have a life just like everyone else.

Pierce is going on TWO STRAIGHT MONTHS of none stop, balls to the wall partying

Please provide a link that proves Paul was partying for TWO STRAIGHT MONTHS.

How do you know he isn't working out 5 days a week and partying on weekends? You don't.

I just don't think we can compare how we spend our time, to how a professional athlete spends his time. No need to be up at 7 in the morning to go to the office, professional chefs to cook for you, home gyms and basketball courts. Go to bed at 3 isn't a problem, just sleep in until noon the next day. The daughter needs to get up, the nanny can go get her. Read the paper while your personal masseuse works your muscles. Forget the commute, just go downstairs to the fully equiped gym and indoor basketball court.

Pierce could very easily be keeping in shape, looking after himself, and we'd never know.

Interesting... It usually takes longer in the thread for someone to point out he's bored; sometimes it doesn't happen at all...

Screw it, I hope he has been. Wish I could have been, so I might as well live vicariously through my boy PP.

I could understand some people might be a little worried because almost a month ago he said he was going to get back into basketball and start training again, but since then he has been in Spain and has been pulled over in Vegas.

But it's only August. He's got all of September.

I think we need a player comparison thread or a greatest Celtic teams by decade debate, oh even better the best Celtic assistant coaches of all time.

Seeing how Paul doesn't have to show up to work for another 2 months as long as he doesn't pack on 100lbs I don't really care what he does. He just played an extra 3rd of the season he probably doesn't need to be anywhere near a basketball right now. And seeing how he lives in Vegas I would be a lot more concerned about him getting pulled over and cuffed for being a large scary black man if it was somewhere else.

I do believe that is threads like this that are driving good posters away. I know there isn't much to talk about, but this is just ridiculous.

Wow, threads like this are driving good posters away? hahaha, you have absolutely no freaking idea what you are talking about. None. Zip. Zippo.

I know what drove the good posters away but I don't feel like getting into it. :-?

We are just going to go ahead appoint you to be "Paul Pierce's official nutz protector." You keep telling everyone to get off nutz, so the the title is appropriate.

A signature to follow soon.

Or perhaps the shite new layout and ads on both sides are driving people away? Also that it is the dead season as far as the NBA is concerned...this place is DEAD DEAD DEAD but it'll pick up in a month when camp is going on and we're a couple of months from the season opener...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
