I am not sold we are going to go after Pargo for 3million plus per year and I have always thought that Mourning is not going to play anywhere -- but Miami at this point.

Zo, would be a solid pick up ( if healthy) but I dont think he is coming this way.

Sounds like an Emplay rumor. Still waiting for Bender and Boozer to suit up for Lakers. Emplay is as close to being an insider as I am being President of the USA>

With ZO and Pargo

SF:Radmanovic/Ariza/Walton/Karl
PG:Gasol/Odom
C:Bynum/Zo/Mihm
SG:Bryant/Vujacic/Mitchell
PG:Fisher/Farmar/Sun/Pargo
that's 16 players tho. I guess we could send Mitchell, Karl, and Sun to the D leauge and we can also spend our mony on someone else other that Pargo too

I think the depth chart would be..

PG: Derek Fisher/ Jordan Farmar/ Jannero Pargo
SG: Kobe Bryant/ Sasha Vujacic/ Sun Yue
SF: Lamar Odom/ Trevor Ariza/ Luke Walton
PF: Pau Gasol/ Vladimir Radmanovic/
C: Andrew Bynum/ Alonzo Mourning/ Chris Mihm

According to the LA Times, Sun Yue is projected to be a SG for us.

Either way, I don't think this is true. Alonzo can't even play until December at the earliest. Why would he sign now, when he can just wait and see who the contenders are come then? I think this is going to be an option for us for mid season. Not right now.

Why WOULD'NT Pargo be a good addition? He is the prototypical triangle point guard, has triangle experience and fits the bill of a defensive point guard (atleast better D than Farmar anf Fish.) Farmar would be packaged in a trade to try and get rid of Vlade or Luke, or in a bigger trade with Lamar. Farmar has good value around the league, but in the triangle offense, which is perhaps the most restrictive offense for a point guard in basketball, Farmar is basically just utilized as a jump shooter on our squad, which is precisely what Pargo brings to the table, with better D and without the need to handle the ball. As I mentioned in previous post, the addition of Sun Yue increases the likelyhood of Farmar being shopped and the addition of a shooting type point guard like Pargo because Sun Yue is another guy that needs to have the ball in hhis hands to be effective, which makes guls like LO and Farmar even more expendable, because we have enough of those guys already.

If Zo's even healthy enough to match his level last season, he'd still be an great addition to the Lakers. Bynum and Zo rotating at center....scary.

I would be surprised and saddened if Zo played anywhere other than the Heat. No matter where he goes, he'll still be the heart and soul of the Heat.

To answer a question posed earlier in the thread: Yes, Riley did play Shaq and Zo together. He used it alot vs Detroit in 2005 playoffs. Worked well...but then Wade and Shaq got hurt and we lost in game 7. Later on they were used together here and there. More often then not they played separately because of Shaq's foul trouble and constant injuries.

As a Heat fan, I'd love to see Zo win another Championship, so I wouldn't mind seeing him sign with the Lakers. But, we're probably not going to try to sign him until midseason and I doubt anyone else signs him either. Like someone else said, he can just wait and see who's a contender and then sign with that team. But, he keeps giving interviews making it seem like its MIami or retirement. http://blogs.herald.com/miami_heat/2008 ... omeba.html

Good luck this season guys!

Guard Jannero Pargo signed a one-year contract with the Russian club Dynamo Moscow. Sources say the deal will be worth $3.5 million after Russian taxes have been paid. At the conclusion of the deal, Pargo, now 28, will be free to sign in the NBA or anywhere else.
