Screw you too! lol

No stopping Phelps from getting his eight now for sure. His turns are just too awesome. Czeh was with Phelps the first couple of laps, but with each turn, Phelps opened up a bigger lead from the field and that was it.

Nastia Liukin with the great routine.

I seriously can't wait for the track and field tomorrow.
No judges. I'm so sick of seeing people claim the judges are favoring the Chinese.

Tomorrow, the REAL olympics begin! :D

Liukin looks like she will get the gold. The US can go 1-2 right here with Liukin/Johnson.

15.525 for NASTY!
I predict there will be no crying over the judging this time around!

Nastia wins. A feel good for me as another Soviet immigrant. More proof why this is a great **** country.

Pretty cool that she is crying and smiling during the anthem. She hardly ever smiled at all during the competition and now you see her smile.

Very happy to see the US win, even beating the questionable judgments.

Questionable judging? You must have been watching NBC and their bitching about it.

Really? Explain how Nastia does a near perfect vault routine and sticks the landing and gets a 15.050 while the Chinese girl who didn't medal fell on her a$$ and ended up with a 14.875. Or Shawn Johnson's balance beam where she got much lower than what was warrented after only having one balance check while the Chinese girl that got bronze ended up with a higher score despite having multiple balance checks and failing to connect a move (all while Shawn had a higher start value). Or Semenova getting a 14.450 on floor despite not making any significantly noticeable mistakes, she didn't have a great routine but she shouldn't have scored lower than the Chinese girl who butt-planted on her vault.

The judging was terribly inconsistent, it made the competition fairly unenjoyable.

Agree entirely. The balance beam scores really threw me. The chinese girl had 5 clear deductions that even I could pick up on, despite the fact I know very little about the event, while Johnson only had the 1. That was a head scratcher.

That's your opinion as to how well or how poorly each gymnast did. Neither of us are judges and we're both sitting at home watching it on TV. Sure some scores might have made me go 'huh?' a little bit, but the scoring was nothing so far out of line as to be considered corrupt.

I'm not saying corrupt judging, I'm saying terrible judging, potentially biased. I don't think China has these judges on a payroll, I think they are just lousy.

Have you followed gymnastics at all? Corruption is a part of the sport. Why do you think they changed the scoring? Hell, remember what happened in the mens in athens. Hell what happened to Alexei Nemov is enough to question the judges...

The judges can and have been wrong various times. It is like when a ref in basketball makes a bad call. Just because they are refs that doesn't make them correct all the time.
