If Phoenix did get past the Spurs...

I don't think they would of got past the Jazz, who would of matched up well with them, and would of had the advantage.

Rebounding? Utah.

Bench play? Utah.

Coaching? Utah.

Toughness? Utah.

Offensive versatility? Utah. They could run with the Suns when needed, and play well in the half-court. Phoenix wouldn't of been able to match Utah's half-court offensive execution, and Phoenix relied too much on shooting jumpers and getting quick scores. Phoenix has always been a limited half-court offensive team. Specifically on the former, Utah's interior scoring ability in numerous ways.

Defense? Neither were solid, proven defensive teams, but the Jazz had more of a team that would play better defense over the course of the series. They had more size and toughness as a team, and Sloan coaching them. I think they would of been relatively disciplined defending the transition game. Being the deeper team helps, too.

Road-play probably wouldn't of been a problem since they won G7 in Houston, and beat the Warriors once in Oakland.

I've seen this too much in relation to the 07 playoffs, and "what if the Suns got past the Spurs?", it's just not legit to overlook the Utah Jazz. They would not of been a favorable oppoent for Phoenix.

Suns was ranked No.1 in Offense in 2007 they were they best offensive team that year. Jazz were a good offense team in 2007 but they were not the best.

Suns would have been favorites over the Jazz because the Suns were a top 2 or 3 team in the league in 2007.

Suns in 2007 had more experience than the Jazz.

Suns went 61-21 in 2007
Jazz went 51-31 in 2007

Plus the Suns would have had homecourt advantage, and we all know the Jazz tend to struggle on the road.

Im not over looking the Jazz but I don't think they would beat the Suns in 2007.

If the Suns would have beat the Spurs they would have won a championship.

And the Cavaliers would have a had absolutely no chance against the Suns if they was there.

Suns bench was pretty good that year.

Leandro Barbosa averaged 18.1ppg in 2007.

Wow, I love how you guys can guarantee stuff....thats what dreams are made of, blind ignorance.

If the Suns could get Vince Carter by giving up Diaw and filler than they would be a favorite.

The only 'filler' that works is Barbosa, salary-wise, and PHX would lose a lot of depth in that trade unless they got someone else in addition.

No.

There are at least 4 teams in the West that I don't think they have a chance of beating (Lakers, Hornets, Jazz, Spurs). Their window is already closed, and it's time to think about rebuilding. Their best bet is to use Shaq's expiring in 09/10 to bring in a replacement for Nash, as well as some solid role players, then let Nash expire and go after LeBron (which is a long shot) or another big name free agent.

Suns are going to go 65-17

Amare is going to win the MVP and average 30/10

Louis Amundson is going to win most improved player and average 15/5/2

Robin Lopez is going to win the rookie of the year and average 10/10

Suns are going to be the 2008-09 champs!

Most likely that is...

Team isn't deep enough, even with Barbosa & Diaw being pretty good bench players. So no.
