We can move to the top

Post#1 » by tbhawksfan » Fri Aug 15, 2008 5:48 pm

What if we could pull this off;

Marvin Williams / Bibby / 2010 first

for

Vince Carter / Sean Williams / Hinrich

Hinrich

for

Bibby

VC / S. Williams

for

Marvin / 2010 first

We run to the top of the east with:

Horford / Williams / Morris

Smoove / Zaza / Jones

JJ / Mo / Hunter

VC / Flip / Richardson

Hinrich / Law / Speedy

That's a team that could compete with anyone.

There is no way Jersey does that. I know they are trying to rebuild and get younger but Sean Williams is worth far more than Marvin at this point.

decent , but no........... Kirk is just a big mess that the Hawks do not want to get envolved with.

Jersey doesn't come anywhere close to doing that.

And seriously... for how many trades you post do you not know how to use the trade checker? THis doesn't come anywhere close to working under the cap

Both trades don't work.
Use the trade checkers:

I normally don't like these wild trade ideas, but this one is appealing from a Hawks standpoint. It would never happen because of the huge payroll the Hawks would be adding, but I agree it if they made those trades it would benefit the team and they would potentially be one of the best in the east.

Jersey might do it. I'm not sure they would though and probably not Chicago. I don't believe Bibby and Kirk matchup, it would have to be Noc/Kirk. I guess they would think about it if they suck this season and want an expiring.

Sell the farm? Huh? How does Atlanta "sell the farm"?

The Hawks would be adding significant payroll, but giving up Marv and what would be a late first is hardly what I would refer to as selling the farm. Hawks fans vastly overrate Marvin Williams in my opinion.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

It's not a stupid trade, you obviously put some thought into it. The Bulls have been rumored to want to free some space in their backcourt for Gordon ... and Hinrich is one of the players who's been offered to other teams. This trade gives them huge cap relief next offseason. Plus on your thinking here. Of course, Hinrich's a better defender, who can cover 1's and 2's, so Bulls fans may complain on that score.

New Jersey has been publicly trying to trade Carter for at least the last 2 seasons, so your thinking's solid there, as well. Problem is, their fans might not like losing the star quality of VC.

ATL might do the trade for Carter's help in the playoffs. He and JJ would be able to dominate in the 4th quarter. However, Carter's contract is huge and he is on the way down.

I think I'd turn the offer down if I were the Hawks but your work's not bad. I've seen worse trade offers.

My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.
