With the acquisition of All-Star Elton Brand and the further maturation of Iggy, Williams, and Young, right now it's Philly's spot to lose. Detroit's still in the running, but Philly has more talent and are hungrier.

I think you should sick Chicago on the list. I don't think they'll be second best, but they should enter into the discussion.

Detroit for sure in my opinion, they haven't changed while no one below seems capable of beating them.

Philli is a big question mark but for them to jump for bottom dweller to #2 this season seems a tad far fetched. They are looking great for a high-mid seed though (3-6)

Uh, no. Being that Detroit was the second best team last year, it literally is Detroit's spot to lose. Detroit has proved they can be second best (much to my chagrin, OVER and OVER AGAIN :D ); Philly hasn't proved squat yet.

idk why peope are putting cleveland so low, i think them and philly and detroit will have a nasty race to see who finishes with that #2 seed. philly has the weapons and talent to do it, but can they put it together. and cleveland with lebron can never be counted out cuz he will average a triple double next season, and detroit because they got older in a good and bad way, billups, hamilton, rasheed, mcdyess all got older but so did maxiell, stuckey, afflalo and amir johnson so thats a good thing.

The 15 and 67 Heat make the list but not the 37 and 45 young Hawks who were playing so well at the end of the season and forced the Celtics to win 7 games. They put up a much better fight against those Celtics than either the Pistons or Lakers.

Detroit is still second best, despite improvements of several other teams.

I'd say Boston ends with the top record, Detroit finishes with the second-best record.

Then any possible mix of Orlando, Cleveland, Toronto, and Philly for slots 3 through 6 (I have Orlando finishing in third place, with a chance of beating Detroit's record and finishing second). I have no idea who will grab the 7 & 8 slots, there will probably be 3 or 4 teams fighting a close battle in April for those playoff berths.

I put down Philly, but I'd say seeds 1-4 are easily up for grabs. Boston and Detroit are pretty much the same great teams, but with Philly's acquisitions and Cleveland getting Mo Williams to feed the ball to LeBron, it could go either way. I think you'll see Cleveland and Philly rising while Detroit and Boston may decline a little.

If we don't go by records, the 2nd best team in the East will probaly be Boston if they stay healthy. After nearly getting beat by Cleveland in the playoffs last year without Mo, why wouldn't the Cavaliers be better this year? Truley the only test the Celts had last year was the series against the Cavaliers. Please, Atlanta don't kid yourselves.

With LBJ countinuing to get better every year, it was only a matter of time before Cleveland would be at the top of the east. Yea, dude's that good. Now he has another legite scorer, look out!
They'll find a big to replace Joe S. and still have some serious amo for the deadline.

New York and Jersey can start hoping and praying for D. Wade or maybe Bosh now.

Unless one of those decide to come play with the King.

I guess you could call this my assumtion.

It doesn't change the fact that Cleveland isnt a great regular season team. They wont finish top 2 IMO
