Steroids are illegal. Steroids are a health hazard. Steroids give players a competitive advantage. Just because someone "could make a choice" to do something doesn't make it right. I could chose to punch my opponent in the head everytime he touches the ball. It doesn't mean the NBA or anyone else for that matter should allow it.

No. Can you imagine the league riddled with freaked-out steroid players? This is a bad idea.

In a sport that demands great anaerobic capacity, In fully believe that steroids is pretty much useless yes the sport requires an individual to exhibit strength, speed and power but @ what use if the athlete does not have the endurance and stamina to last all 40 or so minutes, therefore I fully believe in that a drug called EPO has more of an impact in such activities than steroids or any growth Hormone inhibitors. The Olympic drug testing committee is very concerned about the prevalent use of EPO, a drug that boost oxygen intake for the red blood cells and gives athletes the stamina, endurance and lung capacity to fight through fatigue and lactic acid, the testing for EPO is very much in its early and primitive stages so many athletes are in all probability are using it to their advantage without being detected, clearly this is a problem affecting sports.

I think players should be allowed to point shave to make a little extra money on the side.

No. I don't even think it would be a big help for most NBA players. If players add large amounts of muscle, they would lose mobility and speed. It might be helpful to some skinny centers and PFs though. The only player who should be allowed to use steroids is Shaun Livingston.

I don't think steriods would have a positive effect on a professional basketball player in any way. Sure it will bulk you up but not like a Lebron bulk. I would imagine it could even make you more immobile. That's probably why you don't even see the discussion pop up ever.
