Canada should get a medal in softball. They're in second place at 3-1 and their remaining games are against the hapless Venezuelan team, a pretty good Australian team and a good Japanese team. Barring an epic collapse they should finish at least 5-2 and get at least a bronze.

I'm really worried about Gay, his injury is still lingering.

Holy crap...that last stroke above water with Cavic reaching underwater was the difference. What a race.

Is the touch computer detected? I can't believe he touched first.

Even on the super slow motion replay I didn't think he touched first. Damn though, 1 more for the record.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

It looked to me like Cavic hit the wall under water before Phelps hit.

Phelps does it again!!!!

Also Dalhausser/Rogers with a huge comeback from being down 6-0 in the third set to win 15-13 and knock out the Swiss. I can't stand Laciga, he's such a prick.

Disappointed in Hoelzer failing to grab gold in the 200m Backstroke. Also disappointed in Crocker failing to get a medal in 100m Butterfly. Ziegler and Hoff failing to qualify for the 800m freestyle really hurts us as well.

Can it still be challenged? Or is the result now official and that's it?

I thought Phelps was second. But wow, what a finish.

I need to see some replays. I thought for sure Phelps' run had ended.

Yeah, you didn't even have to listen to the announcers. Every time they showed him, he was yelling at Schnider.

It's computerized/sensors... the underwater view right after the race is the best one to look at and it looks like Phelps barely beat him

How would you challenge it? It's not judges guessing who got there first it's a sensor that reacts to touch. Whoever touches wins and slow motion showed Phelps touched first anyway.

Now Phelps will cruise to the 8th gold. Hopefully NBC gains some sense and shows it live across the US.
