Jannero Pargo to Europe

Post#1 » by Whateva » Sat Aug 16, 2008 10:37 am

Jannero Pargo has become the latest player to choose Europe over the NBA, signing a one-year deal with Moscow Dynamo worth $3.8 million, according to Yahoo! Sports.

He joins former Nets forward Bostjan Nachbar on the team, who will be coached by an American this season.

The guaranteed money in Russia trumped serious bids made by the Spurs and Hawks.

Pargo averaged more than 10 points a game in the postseason for the Hornets this spring.

he was a crucial part of there success late in the season last year, that sucks for the hornets, but im surprised because i thought he stood out last year and had finally found his team in the hornets. him comin off that bench with wright and posey would have been formidable, now they have questionable depth.

He is a lifetime sub 40% shooter, last year he shot 38%....

If a 7/2 guy is considered good on bad percentages, what is considered bad?

IIRC, Jannero Pargo was close to ink a deal with an European team 1/2 years ago.

He was big down the stretch fot the Hornets, and their depth took a big hit. Unless Mike James steps up (which I don't think it's possible now)

3.8 million.. that's it?

The Celtics could of offered something like 2.8 million if I'm correct.

I thought Pargo was better then just a 3.8 million offer. For christ sakes Childress CHILDRESS got something like 10 mil a year.

Looking at the stats maybe Pargo was a much worse player then I thought. 3.8 million isn't that much to go to Russia for.

you realise 3.8 is more than 2.8

I think what he was trying to say is 2.8 million playing for the best club team in the world, is better than 3.8 playing for the Moscow Dynamo. I would rather play for the best team in the world but different strokes for different folks I guess. :D

Pargo was the reason why the Hornets beat the Celtics in NO this year. I didn't watch many hornets games, but whenever I saw him he seemed to play well.

Yeah but the privilege to play in Boston and the best fans in the NBA is worth a solid 1.5-2 million, so Pargo still comes ahead

I imagine the Hornets would rather him go overseas than to the Spurs, but he should have stayed in New Orleans to begin with.
