Possibly a 9.49.

Either way, it is a great day for us track athletes.

Nobody will make this sound like a big deal than us track athletes.

Crap, Im a sprinter and I run a 12.6 on the 100. THIS GUY RAN HALF A RACE AND STILL BROKE 10 SECONDS. That makes me cry.

What a great athlete.

He's not done yet though. He has the 200, the 4x1 and 4x4 still remaining. Judging from the 100, Bolt can break the 200 with a 19.04 WR.

With Bolt looking around at 70meters, arms wide open at 80meters, and thumping his chest at 95meter !!!!

No wind either... he could have easily dipped below 9.5 secs. In a Canadian Interview he said he didnt want to take a gaint chuck out of the current WR.

*Trinidad with the silver medal... national holiday coming soon ... there dancing in the streets of Port of Spain*

Disagree with the speculated times.

9.5something maybe if he had a 2.0 tail wind.

I'd say around 9.60 with the 0.0wind if he went hard to the line, you'd be surprised how fast these guys still go even when they relax and play up, Having run under 10.7 myself, I know how hard it is to physically slow down when you have momentum going, and this guy is going 1second faster than that and is twice my size, hes going to have so much momentum he could have run into the parking lot before he stopped, I doubt if he tried to stop before the line after 70m he could for a million dollars. You don't accelerate for the whole 100m either, he wouldn't have kept getting quicker, would have just held his top speed to the line instead of a slight decrease in pace.

If he drops 0.6 off his 200m PB, and the times he ran at the Jamaican trials, then I'm going to be pretty suss... I hope MJ's WR stays, but I fully expect him to run the 2nd fastest 200m ever and take the gold.
