Before you get too cocky Sett, just remember that you traded BOTH Ryan Braun and Troy Tulowitzki for Miguel Cabrera before last season your judgment isn't as rock solid as you would like everyone to believe.

I'll be the first to admit that I have made my fair share of poor draft choices (Lofgren and Detwiler, I'm looking at you two) but I have made some solid picks (Buchholz, Ellsbury, Porcello, LaPorta,Butler, Upton). I also made some really smart original draft moves taking Cabrera and Sizemore so early. But my real magic has been in trades. I picked up Braun and Tulo last season, I picked up Josh Hamilton when he was undervalued. I also got Kershaw and Wieters for what amounted to a prospect trade. I also landed Lester as a throw in for Hoffman. I also made some smart pick-ups with young players like grabbing Doumit and Flores (if anyone is looking for a catcher this off-season, I am your man) as well as dropping Morales for Jimenez. So while sometimes I get too cute with the draft picks, my trades for young talent has been superb and my team might be the best all-around team going forward over the next five years if everyone stays healthy. mahalo

I'm still not ready to concede defeat on the Braun/Tulo trade. It was a very hard deal for me to make but i decided quality is worth more than quantity and I still think that Miggy is the best player going forward out of that deal. I'm also the guy who looked like an idiot when he traded Cameron Maybin and Andrew Miller for AJ Burnett a couple years ago. The point is, I'm a fantasy god. I have Evan Longoria. I've basically looted every team except yours Chach and offensive talent level is through the roof. Pitching, I'm willing to say I need another closer but overall I think I've acquired all the right pieces for a title run. So bring it on Chachi. Oh, and I've been really bad at the top of drafts but just look at what I've done in the later rounds. Just this year, Lowrie, Anderson and Tillman were all big time steals.

Wait, you think you won that trade?

You gave me Maybin, Miller, and a 2nd (Rasmus) for Burnett.

Think.

I wouldn't give you either Maybin or Rasmus now for Burnett straight up. Both are top ten prospects.

And what's Burnett's fantasy ranking this year, like in the 300's?

Damn, you looted me.

And Jed Lowrie will not be a good fantasy player.

Speaking of which you need to pick up Lowrie.

Also, bove doesn't have control of Bailey and Gonzalez anymore does he? If he does, just switch the players back I dropped for them.

And stud Holland sucks as much as Tommy Hunter does in the majors.

Ryan Braun is an MVP candidate and Miggy has shifted to first base. He'll have some multi-position value but Braun alone is better and when healthy, Tulo is a top five shortstop. You got treadmilled dude.

Lowrie is going to be a fantastic real life player but I'm iffy on his fantasty potential because I'm unsure of his major league roll. I actually would like it better if he were a super sub getting 500 ABs a year. mahalo

Whoever has the rights to Jeff Clement, I think it's BG now, needs to pick him up because he's hit his AB limit.

For future reference, I know the trading deadline has passed but we can work out off-season trades. I'm looking to upgrade at first, maybe second, a long term solution at third, and some bullpen help. I have excess catchers, OFers (mostly power guys) and starting pitching. If you want names, they are:
Ryan Doumit
Jesus Flores
Nick Swisher
Kelly Johnson
Edwin Encarncion
Jacoby Ellsbury
Carlos Lee
David Murphy
Scott Kazmir
James Shields
Gil Meche
Ubaldo Jimenez
I'll listen to offers for Lackey but it's going to be a hard sell.

David Wright or Alex Gordon would look good on my team. Lackey plus what would get me Wright? I have two prospect first round picks and a minor league system of: Rick Porcello, Matt LaPorta, Matt Wieters, Ross Detwiler, Ryan Kalish, Daniel Cortes, Kevin Ahrens, Jacob McGee. mahalo

I'm willing to trade Wright. And I want Wieters. So McCann would be available if Wieters is.

You had to keep Miller on your roster since the trade happened and that was definitely a negative effect. Maybin and Rasmus might both still be stars but their stocks have dropped a little this year and they've never done anything in the majors. AJ Burnett has had a terrible ERA and WHIP this year but he's on pace for 20 wins and 215 Ks. It's hard to find a guy that consistently gets you a ton of Ks with a good ERA and Burnett has given me some good years. All your guys have given you is a cockiness about your prospect system, but no actual impact yet.

Alright, I'll concede I lost that trade, but Miggy isn't chopped liver. I still think he's as good or even a better fantasy player than Braun. He started off slow this year and I know his stats still aren't as good as Braun's but he's surging now and we can compare stats at the end of the season. I don't know if I'd call Tulo a top 5 SS after his struggles this year, but he's definitely a great player. I'm perfectly happy with Rollins (although I miss all my first round prospect picks).

Keeping Miller on my roster had no negative effect, my roster has sucked and had a bunch of players I didn't want from the start. I mean I probably had to drop the great Erick Aybar for him, but damn.

Burnett has given you some great years? This is his second year on your team and his fantasy ranking is in the 300's, last year I'm not sure what it was, but I bet it wasn't in the top 100.

Maybin and Rasmus stock has fallen, but not much, both are still top ten prospects. If I offered you both for Burnett, I'm sure you would decline, right?

No **** they haven't had an impact they're 21 years old.

And yet you "looted" me, right.

All I'm saying is that last year Burnett had 176 Ks and this year he's going to have over 200 and 18-20 wins, while your guys haven't made an impact yet. The trade will have swung into your favor once Maybin and Rasmus put up some numbers in the majors.

Kazmir and Wright are a wash, with my giving the possible advantage to Wright simply because I am loaded with pitching and need help at third. But Wieters is better than McCann, especially with a first round pick. Dude is OPSing 1.000 over two spots in the minor league and could step in next season and be in the top 5 OPS among shortstops. Dude is built like a tank and withstand the wear and tear of the position even though he is 6'5. He has no obvious home/road or lefty/righty split. He hits for a high average, walks more than he strikes out, hits for power (24 bombs this year) and has done so at multiple levels. Kid is the best prospect in baseball and will be an asset to my UTL spot next year and will play at catcher when Doumit gets hurt.

You know what? I rescind my offer Ty. I really need to think about this trade more in depth before I make a legit offer. mahalo

Haha Chach, you're becoming legendary in this league for moves like that. You offer a deal where you obviously get the better end by far and then you pull away the offer before the other manager has a chance to decline. I know it's happened to me like 5 times this year. Wright vs. Kazmir?

Wright = 84 R/23 HR/95 RBIs/14 SB/.292 AVG... 11th-ranked player in baseball, top-ranked 3B, 25 years old
Kazmir = 109 IP/8 W/120 Ks/3.22 ERA/1.24 WHIP... 127th ranked player in baseball, 24 years old

Some wash, huh?

McCann = 55 R/21 HR/69 RBIs/4 SB/.303 AVG... 85th-ranked player in baseball, top-ranked C, 24 years old
Wieters = 79 R/24 HR/83 RBIs/1 SB/.351 AVG... done in Class A, 22 years old

I mean, I don't really have a reason to be arguing for Ty other than I'm kind of tired of seeing these offers, haha. But basically, you want the best players at two different positions, both players under 25. In return for those players, you will give a high strikeout pitcher that has thrown over 200 innings in just one out of four seasons. Kazmir isn't Ben Sheets or anything but he's one of those guys (like Burnett) that you don't know if you're going to get 35 starts or 25 starts out of him. Also, in return for the best catcher in baseball, you'll give up the best catching prospect in baseball, who is just two years younger and hasn't proven himself in the majors. How's Jarrod Saltalamacchia doing these days?

You talking bout me? I said it on the last page, and neither bove or Sett have done/said anything about it so I'm assuming it's fine.

Homer Bailey and Carlos Gonzalez haven't been prospects for over 2 months.

It's not my fault it's a poorly run league. (kidding)
