What a race that was, I was walking into a bar and they were all saying the other guy touched first, and I was like NO PHELPS NO, and then realized that they were talking about the replay, and I saw phelps smiling, and I had the same reaction.

Also, sorry for so many questions, when is the last day of the olympics?

Thanks for the second link.

There's a twelve hour time difference so Phelps is on at 10:58pm Saturday August 16th.

Kerron Clement just owned his heat in 400m Hurdles. No effort.

phelps is unbelievable

I believe this happened. Cavic just came in too easy, while Phelps was making an effort to win. He got really lucky, but he deserved it.

Bolt is totally INSANE!!! The guy completely destroyed the field and SHUT IT DOWN with like 10-15 metres to go and SHOWBOATS and still breaks the WR at 9.69?!?!?!?!! Sh$t if he had ran full out I think he could have went below 9.6 for sure!

Cavic lunged too early and Phelps took an extra half stroke.

They just explained earlier on CBC that the Omega timekeepers stated that if two swimmers hit the touchpad at the exact same time, the swimmer who hits it with more pressure is the winner.

So even if Cavic hit the touchpad slightly earlier than Phelps or they both hit it at the same time, Phelps would have won because he definitely hit the pad harder than Cavic did. So I guess those photos that show Cavic possibly touching before Phelps may be true afterall, but Phelps won because he touched harder.

Barring an American drowning in the pool, this is a formality for Phelps. Still a great accomplishment though.

Phelps got 8, amazing. He's in the history books for life.

Anyone notice even the second place teams/people in most swimming events beat the old world records. Not right.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'
