Cowboys need backup QB

Post#1 » by is1531 » Sat Aug 16, 2008 5:44 pm

With Brad Johnson as the backup Cowboys QB that is scary going into the season. The Cowyboys should be the favorites to win the Superbowl with their improvemnet at RB & DB, but having the lampost Brad Johnson as a backup QB makes me cringe. I love to have Simms as the back up QB. It's time for Jerry to make a change before Romo gets hurt. We have seen the Bernie Kozar's, Drew Bletso's and Wayne Wilson's and quite fankly I have had enough of these types of QB's in Dallas.

Repeat after me: Drew BLEDsoE.

Now you do it.

He is right, though.

First and foremost, the Cowboys need to get rid of Tony Romo. He will go down as the biggest playoff choker in NFL history.

0-3 in collegiate playoffs.... and this wasn't even Division 1.
0-2 in NFL playoffs now

Wow dude i know ur a skins fan but do u eva say anything postitive about the cowboys?
And why do u think the Boys should get rid of tony? Eva since he started he been consistant yes mabe not in the playoffs but in the regular season hes dominate. And hes is way betetr than Jason Campbell. Jason cant go a full year without getting hurt and he does absoultley nothing to help the skins. Last year Todd Collins did way better than campell did, and hes a back up with no great history. I think that your scared that the Boys are gonna run all over you guys this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats nice. I don't really care about Jason Campbell. Even if he busts, we have future Pro Bowler Colt Brennan ready to take over.

As far as the Boys running over us, I present you:

I think it is more terrible that they could only get 8 against the 1998 saints :D

Anyway, the backup QB thing isn't something I would worry about, if you are on your backup QB in the playoffs, you aren't winning a championship anyway. Unless it's some fluke injury that lasts the entire season and NOT the playoffs.

Wait a minute their tiger that game that we only ran for a yard in. The cowboys had nothing to play for, we already had the #1 seed wraped up and we had the divison already won.
And for Colt being a future HOFer is a light year away. I have no clue what ur thinkin there buddy??

You should watch the replay of the Jets-Skins game today if you don't think Brennan is headed for the Pro Bowl in the future. Watch as he leads a perfect two minute drill, 80 yards into the endzone to give the Redskins the win.

Another great performance by him tonight. The guy definitely performs under pressure, a lot better than any QB on the Dallas roster.

Ok right now Colt hasnt proven any thing. Its only the preseason and hes ggoning up against #2 and #3 defences no way is he gonna be a HOFer idc what hes doin in the preseason. and how is he better than any of the Cowboys QBs? Romo is frekin clutch in the regular season and Brad jonson has a Sb ring so dont tell me that Colt is better than both of them

This is why I can't stand Skins fans. The funny thing is, even though I probably dislike Washington the least out of our division, their fans are right up their with Iggles & Cowboys fans in terms of annoyance. No matter how trash the squad might be Skins fans will tell you "its our year!" & "*insert random QB here* is the truth & will outshine every other QB in the division!"

Enjoy 4th place in the division.

Redskins fans are as annoying as Iggles and Cowboy fans and apparently the collective sarcasm meter of the entire Giants fan base is broken.

Yes but regular season doesn't mean anything if you choke when it matters. Colt has at least led an otherwise insignificant college program to a BCS Bowl game. Romo has been a choker his entire career, college and pros.

Its a match made in heaven. The Dallas Cowboys, the team that can't win without the triplets and Tony Romo, the guy who can't even win with Terrell Owens and Jason Witten to throw to.

You realize you are holding up a QB who led that 'insignificant college program' through a cupcake conference schedule, and then proceeded to validate everyone's thought of him being the product of that schedule by completely embarrassing himself against a far superior collegiate program?

Colt Brennan looks like a HOF'er in the preseason? So did Ryan Leaf. How'd that work out?

Forget Chris Simms, there is a better option at Qb in free agency in Daunte Culpepper. That would be a great signing for the Cowboys for Culpepper to be the back up. And in regards to Tony Romo he is going to be the next Brett Favre. Putting up great regular season stats year after year but choking in the playoffs year after year as well. Have fun with that.
