I'm feeling real confident about our Cubs, is that a problem? I mean, their 25+ run explosion against the Braves in 3 games, then an 8 run explosion in the 7th against FL, I'm pounding my chest right now!!!

If this team gets hot for a few weeks, its over. We'll have time to mix in the young guys coming up in September, resting the big boys. I don't want more than one week, maybe a week and a half until the season ends and we clinch. One week is plenty to rest guys, play the young guys, rest the arms, and also bring everybody back for the last couple games.

The Cubs can play .500 baseball from here on out and still finish with 95 wins.

Cooper predicts sweep in Milwaukee
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd ... p&c_id=hou
HOUSTON -- Despite two ugly losses in the Astros' series against the D-backs, manager Cecil Cooper continues to challenge his team.

First, he said Houston would win 88 games to end the season, then upped it to 90 earlier this past week.

Now, Cooper predicts the Astros will sweep the Brewers in their next series in Milwaukee.

In response to a reporter saying that the Astros could sweep the Brewers, Cooper said, "I'm predicting that, I'm going out on a limb. You heard it here first."

Nothing like losing a 1/2 game without doing anything. Thanks for the sweep Cooper.

 Ned Yost let CC throw 130 pitches tonight and sent him back out for the shutout in a 9-2 game. His arm is so going to blow out by mid September.

I guess they are trying to post pad his stats. I think he has a chance to win the NL Cy Young if he wins every start from here.
