I only watched part of the game, but in the part I watched he had a 3/4 court ally oop to wade. I have no idea how that pass wouldn't be considered an assist.

What happened to Germany? They were a better team in the last Olympics. I thought with Kaman they'd do better. Guess I was wrong.

Regardless, this win means nothing. We should have blown them out. This German team even lost to China

really? do you think we were so good that we didn't get permission to participate in Athen 2004?

j/k we didn't even qualify for Athens. I guess you mix it up with a world cup or something

The last time GER participated in the Olympics was in 1992 with Det the Threat. ;)

I think you mean the teams when we won Bronze in 2002 WC and Silver in the 2005 EC. In 2002 our role players were WAY better (Okulaja at SF, Demirel at PG) and in 2005 Dirk was simply STELLAR.

Team USA has raped and pillaged the Kaman Islands.

Well, while I do agree on Okulaja (Best of wishes for him and a fully recovery, as he was diagnosed with (possibly an agressive) tumor shortly before the Olympic qualifier), I disagree on Demirel. He was never better than Roller and Hamann. But that doesn't say much, unfortunately.

I didn't see the game cause I had to work, but to be honest, I expected a blowout.
The US team convinced me with the games against Greece and Spain. I don't see a team that will be able to beat them, Argentina being the only one that maybe is able to have a close game. But with only one real PG, I doubt they have a chance of winning.

Dirk + Kaman <<<<<<<<<<< Team USA.

The German guards were terrible. Outside of one or two other guys not named Nowitzki or Kaman, I'm not even sure how they made it past qualifying.

Anyone know if this game will be rebroadcast later in the day in the States?

And if so, time/channel?

Ok, Im a Bucks fan and am high off Bogut's performance last night. I think he would've been a great addition to the redeem team if he was American.
Do you guys think Bogut would have been able to make the team?

No, for the same reasons why Kaman didn't even get an invite. At least he'll get to play on the Aussie team.

One last depressing thing: in several interviews, Dirk stated that he will take an "indefinite sabbatical" from the German NT and will at least skip the 2009 EC. I fear that was his last GER game ever, and it is such a shame to bow out with a 49 pt rape... :(

They don't replay them, but you can watch them on the nbc olympics website via archives. I had the same question.

What reasons are those?

Also, not sure if you were implying this but Bogut is totally different than Kaman. He never wanted to play for the US. He would much rather play for Aus.

Bogut's a good player but I don't know if he'd be a great fit on Team USA on one hand his good passing game would blend in seamlessly, but he's not the most mobile players and doesn't possess the versatility to guard multiple positions, so I don't see how he'd fit in with Team USA's frantic, scrambling, constantly switching defense...

No he wouldn't make the team. The team has only three bigs, D12, Betrayal Skull dude and CB4. Bogut isn't even in their class.

Phelps stole this game, they kept showing him in the 4th quarter.

Yeah, I didn't think they did but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks, I'll check out NBC's site.

I think they replay them in another channel, but I think it's only the second half. I forget which channel.
