All the geniuses saying Amare is overrated need to do their research. One of the best if the not the beast offensive big man in the NBA + he gets penalized for a horrible coach and horrible perimeter defenders.

Wade and Yao?

I'm getting the feeling that alot of RealGM posters don't watch that many games and don't take the time to research that stats. If so, where do some of you people get the foundations for these absurd arguments? (cough... Duiz)

Paul Pierce has never been CLOSE to Wade. Pierce had a few good games in the playoffs and that's it. For the most part he didn't play well at all. Wade absolutely dominated and is easily a top 5 player when healthy.

I want to see him get into the playoffs with this group, and dominate in the same fashion in which he did with that other caliber of team..

I

You mean like LeBron and Kobe did against Boston?

Actually when you think about it the list isn't that over the top and the author does make a couple of valid points. Wade has to take the blame for his team's horrendous out put. It doesn't matter if the team was plagued by injuries. Wade is a supposed superstar and has to muster up more than 15 or however many wins they got just on that basis by itself. I don't really follow the Horry pick because people really don't talk much about him to begin with. I can understand where the author is coming from regarding Yao though. Marion is all right. Battier is overrated on RGM on the basis that a Battier type of player is required on every winning team when Houston has never tasted second round blood. However, they don't come close to Bynum and Anthony in terms of overration.

The fact that Battier has never made the second round has nothing to do, he is the type of player who is required on a winning team, every winning team has a player like him or similar player.

Calderon - had 2 good months last year and ppl compare him to Nash
Ginobli - Best average player on a great team
Beidrins - Has no offense
J-Rich - Exciting but a loser
Rashard Lewis - If Marion is overpaid, what is this guy ?

I somewhat agree with this list.

But I think I'de sub Kidd in for Calderon. Calderon might be somewhat overated on realgm. But he's not really a household name. Kidd I think has tailed off quite a bit, and is pretty overated at this point.

And I'de sub maybe Nash in for Ginobili. I think Manu's probably still underated from most fringe bball fans, and don;t think there's anything average about his game at all. Nash is a sick player, but is probably overated because of his 2x mvp's.

I know you've heard this saying far too often but if I had a penny every time someone uses the word "underrated" to describe Josh Howard, poverty would be a thing of the past given the astronomical amount of money I would have amassed.

I agree with Battier and Wade being overrated. Especially Battier. I know he has good defense, but at best the guy is an average role player. There are laker fans who would literally do a straight up trade with Lamar and Battier if it was possible. That is just insane! :o

The only thing these 5 players the article mentioned are overrated is fantasy value. You can't really trust Battier, Wade, and Yao because of their turnovers, inconsisitency or injuries. Marion could now be an overrated fantasy player because he doesn't play with Nash anymore. Horry on the list is just stupid. He was always a role player

Gilbert Arenas should be on this list. He's practically the definition of a 1 dimensional VOLUME scorer who often doesn't help his team at all, and is a defensive black hole. Add in that gigantic contract he just signed... OV-ER-RAT-ED! *clap*clap*clapclapclap*

I agree with Wade being overrated. Not sure about the rest of the list.

Says the person who thinks Arenas is better then Wade

Anyway, the list is pretty bad. They put a superstar, a star player, and 2 very good role players on it. Out of that list, I would say Marion is the most overrated of the 5.

I don't see what's insane about that. The Lakers could use a defensive-minded, tough player at SF who can nail the open 3. With Kobe, Gasol, and Bynum LA doesn't necessarily need Lamar's offense. They could use someone, other than their superstar, to defend the best opposing player night in and night out. I'm a Rockets fan, and I wouldn't give LA Battier for Odom straight up. I don't think that's too insane...
